Dr. Shannon Danielle Sullivan, MD

This doctor gave me extremely careless treatment and permanently changed my life for the worse. I shared my concerns with her about the treatment so many times, and she finally convinced me to do RAI in 2011 by saying it would be better for pregnancy which I was hoping for. The treatment made my symptoms go from sometimes annoying to completely debilitating. Since RAI I have not been able to work or have children. I told her I was concerned about this treatment because of some inconsistent results I read about and how sensitive my body tends to be to everything. She dismissed this and still strongly pushed RAI. Now there are multiple studies showing patients have all kinds of problems post RAI, and that it was used recklessly as an "easy" solution. She was not at all curious about my concerns or why some patients have bad results. She pushed it blindly as the standard protocol, towing the line of lazy care. I've learned so much since then about what constitutes good care from an… Endocrinologist and she did everything wrong. It's ten years later and my life has never been close to the same post RAI. I wish so much I could go back in time and not do it and not listen to her.

My first appointment was ok, though she didn't really listen to my concerns and hadnt read the test results she'd asked me to submit, and it took a few tries to get her to understand what i wanted. then her prescribed treatment caused severe side effects, so severe i needed to know if i should go to the ER. i contacted her office multiple times asking for an immediate appointment or call or something and recieved no response other than an appointment 2.5 weeks in the future. I ended up going to urgent care, followed by an emergency visit to my primary care dr, who thought my condition bad enough that i had to get bloodwork and am now on medicine to help counteract Dr. Shannon's treatment.

Dr. Sullivan is completely uncommunicative. It takes her a minimum of 24 hours to respond to email, and promises of phone calls are never materialize. Her office will unexpectedly close with no warning, making getting routine blood work done very challenging.

She is just an excellent doctor. I have been having extreme thyriod issues and she patiently listened to everything. Highly recommend this doctor
