I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Rotter. I had been contemplating having my facial sun damage addressed for a while and after seeing what he had done for another patient of his I felt very confident he could help me as well. After an initial consultation Dr. Rotter scheduled me for laser surgery. He made a point to ensure my comfort so the procedure was not painful at all. My recovery was somewhat uncomfortable but not as bad as I thought it would be. I did everything Dr. Rotter told me to do and after 7 days I could see the results. He had me send daily photos and updates during my recovery and was very encouraging every step of the way. I highly recommend Dr. Rotter and am so grateful for his skill and kindness.

A very kind and gentle man with a wonderful bedside manner and most importantly a very skillful surgeon. Dr Rotter makes a very frightening situation a whole lot easier. Skin cancer is no joke ... a gift from my Scottish heritage and years of sunburn’s pre sunscreen. I’ve been seeing Dr Rotter for over 20 years for basal and squamous cell cancer on my face, nose, arms, hands, legs, foot, chest, and back for Mohs surgery (named after Dr Moh). I guess you could say I’m a frequent flyer. ?? Twenty years ago, my local dermatologist, removed a squamous cell cancer on my leg, stitched me up and sent what he removed to pathology, I remember it being very painful and slow healing. I went to have the stitches removed @ 3 weeks and was told he needed to go back in, because the pathology report showed he didn’t get it all. That’s when I found Dr Rotter, I drive over an hour to get to his office and would never go anywhere else !!! Very, organized, very kind and knowledgeable staff. Moira,… my angel in disguise, was by my side, very calming, comforting while assisting Dr Rotter. Moira takes pictures before, during and post op, I prefer not to see them, afraid I’ll pass out.

Dr Rotter used what could only be called a ultra high pressure sales job to make have surgery, it was the worst mistake of my life. I would give anything to be able to go back the way I was before I went to him.

Other than having my head sliced open (!), it was all good.

Dr. Rotter is a brilliant surgeon. I have been a patient almost since he started his practice. He is a warm, caring physician. His staff is well trained, friendly and courteous. He explains a planned procedures and what to expect following surgery. His staff calls the next day to ask how you are feeling and to answer any questions.

Dr. Steven Rotter is a terrific surgeon. If you have to have Mohs surgery, he is the doctor you want. I only wish the numbing injections were less painful. He likes to plunge the needle in and do the injection all at once, which can be difficult to bear. I've been to other doctors who have given nearly pain-free injections: they will first apply ice; then pinch the area, and graze the skin slightly with the needle; wait a few seconds for the area to turn white (indicating superficial numbness); do very brief superficial injections around the area (which I now won't feel); and then go a little deeper with each quick injection.
