Dr. Suzanne Margaret Mone, MD

If I could leave 0 stars I would. At first Mone seemed super kind and caring. Then we came back to her as we felt her first diagnosis wasn’t right. He was passing out and having trouble catching his breath. She said it was POTS. Without doing any testing. When we questioned her, everything changed. She didn’t do further testing and exams and said he was fine just like she said in her first exam. She said it was only POTS which can be controlled by eating more snacks and drinking more water. We asked her just to do various test to be sure and she refused saying she already knew. We ended up going to another cardiologist who did the testing and sure enough he had a murmur, irregular heartbeat, mitral valve prolapse and mitral regurgitation. Dr. Mone needs to remember to not let her own pride get in the way of helping her patients. Until that can happen, I wouldn’t recommend her, even for my dog.

I would not recommend her, the doctor is all about money!!! she misdiagnosed my child, we had a horrible experience with her.

I was excited to have my daughter see Dr. Mone b/c the scheduler said I was in good hands and she was terrific. She was extremely rude and curt. Her beside manner was the worst. She seemed "burdened" to be seeing us, as it wasn't an "interesting" diagnosis. As time went by, I did see that she was thorough so we progressed along. Later she returned into the room after our testing and it was like she was a different person, warmer and kinder. You can have the talent but if you don't have the beside manner you have failed as a doctor.

Our neurologist recommended for my daughter to see a pediatric cardiologist; my daughter is suffering from seizures that cause her to lose her speech and cause numbness on parts of her body along with severe headaches. Of the many tests my daughter had to undergo, our neurologist wanted to make certain that my daughter's heart was working properly. In her first contact with my daughter, Dr. Mone did not even ask my daughter what had happened. I suppose she had already made up her mind because while my daughter was brought into the room to have an electrocardiogram, a rather scary procedure for a child, she heard Dr. Mone whisper to the tech, "There's nothing wrong with her. I don't know why they are even here." After the tests were done, she told my daughter to drink more water and her headaches would go away! At that point, my daughter felt the need to explain the seizures and Dr. Mone actually told her that if you sit in a position for too long, your hand can go numb! Gee,… thanks doctor, good to know! However, I doubt that drinking more water and not sitting in funny positions will prevent my daughter from having seizures. My daughter is scared enough by what has been happening to her. Dr. Mone was completely unprofessional and made my daughter and I feel like we were wasting her time. I'm sure there are many other pediatric cardiologists that are caring, kind and know how to whisper in front of their young patients better than Dr. Mone.

The doctor was great. The billing process is terrible. You get a bill from the doctor which is fine, then a facility charge from Atlantic Health System. This is completely unacceptable.

2013 Hands down I would recommend her to anyone looking for a cardiologist. I have never filled out a review like this so the fact that I am says a lot. She is genuine and makes you feel at ease which is crucial when you get a diagnosis of Down Syndrome along with a heart defect requiring surgery. There was no sense of being rushed and she took the time to explain things clearly. I still have the diagrams she drew for me. She took the time to discuss other concerns I had and offered advice and directed me to other resources. All this and I have only met with her 3x. While I look forward to my daughter not needing to see a cardiologist, it will be a sad day when we do not visit Dr. Mone. There should be more doctors as caring, knowledgable and invested as Dr.Mone.

Dr. Mone is a phenomenal physician with an amazing bedside manner. She is extremely knowledgeable in the field of pediatric cardiology and takes time explaining medical diagnosis in a way that is understandable to the average person. She has a wonderful bedside manner and makes sure to spend time with her patients, and their worried mommy and daddy. I would highly recommend Dr. Mone to anyone that needs to take their child to a pediatric cardiologist.

I was very impressed with Dr. Mone and her staff. Especially with a surprise diagnosis, which through all of us. She was compassionate, competent and professional.

Dr. Mone's bedside manner is impeccable an she spends plenty of time with us and entertains all questions and concerns with great patience and caring.
