The most important thing to me in choosing a surgeon is technical excellence and the ability to achieve the best possible outcome. From my experience, Dr. Schwartz’s surgical approach is highly advanced, refined, and effective. I felt that I was in extremely capable hands. It is true that some appointments can feel efficient, and the amount of direct time with him may not always be long. But the care itself was complete and well organized. The necessary checks were never missed, and when I asked questions, he was patient, clear, and reassuring. I am very grateful for the excellent care from Dr. Schwartz and his team. We are beyond grateful for the care my husband received from Dr. Theodore Schwartz at Mount Sinai Hospital. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond—personally ensuring my husband was transferred from a local hospital to Mount Sinai Hospital so he could receive the specialized treatment he urgently needed. Dr. Schwartz took the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, ensuring we fully understood what was happening at every step. His bedside manner was exceptional: calm, compassionate, and reassuring during one of the most frightening times in our lives. It was immediately clear that he is not only extremely knowledgeable but also truly top-notch in his field. What impressed us most was his expertise and quick thinking during surgery. He had the foresight to take a portion of the biopsy and have it frozen for a preliminary pathology determination. This saved us critical time, and in our case, time mattered—because the final diagnosis of Primary Brain Lymphoma… required chemotherapy to begin as quickly as possible. Even after surgery, Dr. Schwartz continued to check in on us, which meant more than words can express. He treated my husband like a person, not just a case, and that kind of care is rare. I found I had a meningioma in 2015 after having an MRI from an unrelated issue. After tracking for 8 years, I decided to see Dr Schwartz to discuss my options. We decided that the best course of action was to remove the tumor before it causes any issues. Dr Schwartz and his team were excellent. He assured me that I would get through this and that I was in good hands with him and his team. As scary as it was for me, with all the research I did on him, I knew all would be ok. The surgery went as planned with full removal of a Class II Meningioma. Post surgery was not bad at all with little to no pain. I was out of the hospital 3 days after Brain surgery.. Any questions or concern I had were answered very quickly by Dr Schwartz or a member of his team. I generally got a response once home within 30 minutes or less. Being diagnosed with something like this is very scary. I assure you that you are in the best hands if you pursue treatment with Dr Schwartz. I highly recommend his services.
