Dr. Theodore Lee Stringer, MD

He completely messed up a reduction and pin on my 13 yr old son. After surgery he said it was "good enough" growth plates were miss aligned. He'd to have another surgery, slowed recovery by at least 2 months and hoping no more problems.

I brought my 83 yr old mother to Colorado from Hawaii. We were able to see dr Stringer a few after we arrived. My mom had knee replacement 7 weeks ago. He was professional and was very direct to tell her she was not at where she needed to be since surgery . He rushed PT for us. Very happy with our appointment.

Felt the 2 visits to the Orthapeditic Group was like herding us thru like cattle. Finding nothing wrong. Common sense is if the hips aren't aligned the same height. It will eventualky cause issues with your back. And feet. I went to another Orthapeditic doctor 6 months later who found issues that this group failed to acknowledge. I didn't want a quick fix or shot as Dr Stringer suggested. Wanted to resolve the issues so that the conditions didn't get worse as they did.

My wife, family and I have been patients of Doctor Stinger for many years. He does great work and is through all the time. He spend more time with his patients(in and out of the hospital) than any Doc I know. He may seen slow to some people but this Doc doesn't miss a thing. He really cares....

I saw Dr. Stringer for a knee problem. After xrays and an MRI, I had surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Four visits to Stringer, both before and after surgery, had a central aggravation: the man is perpetually late. I arrive for my appointments 10 to 15 minutes early. I check in with the receptionist at Colorado Springs Orthopedic Institute, then take a seat in the waiting room where I see several signs telling me to notify them if I'm still waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time. All four visits, Stringer's assistant would come and fetch me 25 to 29 minutes past my appointment time, then escort me to an exam room where I would sit and wait for an additional 20 to 30 minutes. Not once did Dr. Stringer see me within an hour of my appointment tome. I had the nerve to complain about this on my fourth visit, an appointment I made because my knee still hurts all the time. I grumbled, then felt bad for grumbling at his assistant so I apologized to her. This time, Stringer… came in straight away, so angry I thought he was going to throw something at me. I truly felt physically threatened. He called my complaint a "little tirade," belittling and dismissing me. I stated I'd rather see a different doctor, and he stomped out and said "we're done here." While standing at his assistant's desk waiting for her to print out my records, I overheard him in his office laughing with someone on the phone about how he had "just kicked a patient out of my clinic." I took my complaint to the appropriate person in the front office. I haven't heard anything back yet, so I may have to enter this as a review for the Institute as well.

Absolutely satisfied with the surgery and current status at my three month mark. Previous issues including pain are gone and mobility is already greater than pre surgery. Outstanding surgery results, bedside manner, post surgery follow ups and general concern for patient. Highly recommend Doctor Stringer and this Ortho Group!

I referred 2 patients to this " Dr". Years earlier my mother had been referred to him during a temporary nursing home rehab stay( she'd had a colostomy). At the time he SEEMED ok. However, yrs later an elderly friend that I referred to him( for a knee replacement) told me she felt pressured by him. to make return visits long after she healed! What's odd is that about 3 mos later, I OVERHEARD 2 older ladies at Starbucks mention Dr. Stringer and that THEY felt pressured by him to keep coming in for check uos that they felt was a ploy for money. One called him a " greedy gus" which I NOW feel is accurate!!! They also said " butter wouldn't melt in his mouth" when he tries to gain your confidence BEFORE surgery. Then he barely SPOKE or answered their questions during follow uos!!!

Six years ago (2012) I had my hip replaced by Dr. Stringer. After two years of constant pain, I went back to see him. Following an X-Ray and bone scan, it was determined the prosthesis was possibly showing signs of loosening. Dr. Stringer did not feel it needed anything done at that point and sent me on my way. No recommendation to return in a year or so should the pain continue. Time did progress and the pain gradually increased to the point I went to see another doctor who also did X-Rays and bone scans. The new doctor could see from the X-Ray taken that day plus a copy of the X-Ray I had done two years after the surgery that the prosthesis had moved and definitely indicated it was loose. I called Dr. Stringer who attitude was not very pleasant - he basically indicated I was at fault for not seeing about it earlier, no empathy or concern. Not exactly the kind of response to a procedure he did originally. I had revision surgery done 2.5 weeks ago. My new doctor said… there was a scew that did not show up on any X-Ray and that was the only thing holding the cap and ball in place and preventing the hip from dislocating. Upon questioning, it was determined that my body did not reject the implant, there was nothing wrong with the implant itself and all indications pointed to poor original surgery. Revision surgery is far more major than an original implant procedure and not something one would choose to have done - very painful.
