Dr. Troy Houston Middleton, MD

In the past 30 yrs, I have been operated on by Dr Troy Middleton on four different occasions for four different problems. Each operation has been very successful and Dr Middleton has been very attentive and has sought the best for me. He is a man of few words, but when he speaks he is telling the truth and any patient should make the most of his words and medical abilities. If I have another spine problem, I will certainly go back to Dr. Middleton.

Middleton did a lumbar fusion on my in 2005, prior he told me I would be up and running in 6 weeks. It was a long surgery almost 7 hours. Not one time did he send any updates to my wife in the waiting room. When he was finished he came out told my wife he had had enough and left it to someone else to explain the results. I woke in horrifying pain knowing something was wrong. That 6 weeks turned into a year. I am not going to say what I wished for but I had heaven on my mind. Doctors thought I was nuts because I had horrible pains running down my legs from my back, sensations of being bit, electrical shocks running everywhere, feet on fire and the worst muscle cramps I have ever encountered that continue today. I found out that this surgery caused me to be a victim of Adhesive Arachnoiditis caused by the trauma during the surgery. It was hid from me until 2011 when I was forced to retire on disability. I wear braces now to walk, my legs are dying and show no muscle tone at all. I have… to have help with most everything I do. My wife and I lost everything because of Middleton and his ego. We live on Social Security at a time in my life that I should be whole and able to do anything. But I was robbed and this disease on an average takes 12 years off your lifespan. Middleton is a monster who doesn't care or admits when he has failed. I'm sure he was thinking law suit and dollars if he ever exposed what he did to me.

My husband saw this guy only because he had too when he filled in for another doctor when he was in the hospital with his back. He was such a jerk. We would never go to him. Never really met a neurosurgeon that had a NICE personality, but he was especially gruff and mean. You're already in pain and then the doctor makes you feel worse. Yeah, I get it, being a neurosurgeon is a demanding job, but if you can't do it without being able to keep a little bit of a respectable bedside manner WHY become a doctor in the first place? Money?? I guess, because it's certainly not concern for the human condition.

So glad I had him for a doctor. Thanks to him, my quality of life is much better!

I made an appointment because of severe pain in my right arm and loss of function of my right hand. Dr. Middleton diagnosed deterioration of two cervical discs. Having had my options clearly explained to me, I elected surgery. Two cadaver bones, two metal plates, and four metal screws were implanted in my neck. I am now pain free and have regained the use of my right hand. My head has full range of motion. Good doctor, good staff, and entirely satisfactory experience.

Before I met with Doctor Troy Middleton, I was in Purgatory under the care of another doctor, with no relief in sight. Dr. Middleton looked at my MRI with me and explained the out patient procedure. I was in and out in a couple hours. I was completely healed with no more discomfort. The man knows what he is doing.

I had a terrible auto accident in 2009. While at a complete Stop , waiting for an on coming school bus to load, I was struck from behind by a loaded log truck traveling at approximately 60mph. I have suffered with neck and back pain since that time. I moved to Alabama within the last year. I have been seeing a pain management Dr. Since the accident. This Dr was recommended to me by a coworker. When this man walked in the room and began talking he made it sound like I was wasting his time and taking up the air he breathed. He wouldn't even let me tell him really why I was there. This so called Dr has NO bedside manner. He is rude and made me feel like I was beneath him.
