Dr. Umair Saeed, MD

I feel compelled to share our recent experience with Dr. Saeed, who attended to my partner via video consultation during an emergency visit. Before speaking with us, Dr. Saeed consulted with the Emergency Room doctor from his bathroom. He cited not wanting to wake his family as the reason. While we understand the challenges of balancing work and personal life, the location seemed inappropriate and unprofessional for a medical consultation. Our actual interaction with Dr. Saeed was brief. He asked for my partner's name, inquired about the current month, and asked him to lift his legs. Surprisingly, the conversation was over within about 3 minutes. Dr. Saeed didn't seek any further information, nor did he offer an explanation for his findings or allow us to ask questions. The abrupt end left us both feeling unheard and concerned. Moreover, discrepancies arose in his subsequent report. Dr. Saeed claimed he wasn't convinced my partner experienced seizures, even though they were observed… and confirmed both in the ambulance and in the ER (and he has had confirmed and treated epilepsy since childhood). Additionally, his report stated an 18-minute consultation, which starkly contrasts our 3-minute experience. Our main concern is the potential lasting impact of this interaction. An inaccurate medical analysis can have implications for my partner's health journey, especially given the ongoing issues he's been facing. I urge patients to exercise caution if referred to Dr. Saeed, particularly for video consultations. We hope that everyone receives the attentive care they deserve, especially during emergencies and doctors like this are held accountable and to the same standards as they would in-person when consulting remotely.
