I thought I was going to die from Papillary Thyroid. I refused other doctor and finally I met him. I was very happy with his expertise. He said " Don't worry, drive carefully and do not smoke cigarette. It was 30 years ago! He is my doctor and my friend now.

My son was diagnosed with extensive metastatic thyroid cancer as an eleven year old in 1997.. Dr. Varma has overseen his treatments and follow up care for almost 16 years. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. My son, my husband, and I trust no other physician like we trust Dr. Varma. We continue to consult him even though we have moved out of the mid-Atlantic area.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2003. My son was diagnosed in 2006. Dr. Varma has treated us both and I find great comfort in his knowlege and care.

Dr. Varma cured my thyroid cancer. His great cure rate is posted on the Shady Grove Hospital website. He's a thyroid expert, and consults with other doctors on the most difficult cases. 75% of his patients are thyroid cancer patients. He's organized, personable and caring, and explains things well. After surgery, he handled my endocrinology and nuclear medicine scan. A year and half after initial scan, he's still doing my endocrinology and I'm feeling great. My husband likes him too. Lynn his assistant is fabulous. I've been very pleased with Dr. Varma and would highly recommend him.
