Dr. Wen S Lai, MD

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Lai for at least 10 years. She is our PCP. She is super responsive to any questions or concerns through MyChart. We followed her from her former location in the Dallas medical district when she moved to Irving, even though it's a much longer drive for us now. She offers her recommendations for our medical issues but never loses sight of the fact that we are the ones driving the bus, so she accepts our decisions and doesn't seem to judge them. She also has a sense of humor -- crucial!! We trust her with our health and hope we never have to switch PCPs.

Doctors are supposed to help you feel better but in this case Dr. Lai made me feel worse. She was very cold in her greeting, didn't have a caring attitude about my symptoms and left the room without ever returning to tell me what the next steps were. Doctors need to be trained to show compassion and empathy. You will not find these traits with Dr. Lai. I will never return to her.

She is very condescending. She was not helpful at all. I would not even let my dog see her. Do not go to this doctor. It was almost if I was an inconvenience to her. She was asking me what I wanted to do. I made it clear if she didn’t know what to do why would she instruct the nurse to come in. I definitely would have gone to a more qualified E.N.T. Needless to say I will never return to such an evil women’s office.

I had asked for a RX refilled and she denied it saying I don’t need it. When I confronted her about it she lied and said she never refused to refill the Rx. She exaggerates a diagnosis and tries to treat things that are not her specialty. I will not trust a doctor that will lie to patients.

Told her my problems and she asked me why I was there and what I wanted her to do about it? Help me would be great

Iam disabled. My first visit , she did not have my records. My physical disability is not always visible. After receiving records changed medications and dosage without discussion. She is very distant and disconnected. She could care less to heal. Iam on no pain medications.

While during my first visit, Dr. Lai seemed somewhat distant, she's been much more approachable since then. She's efficient, knowledgeable, listens to what I say and responds to it appropriately. Nothing is overlooked, and when my insurance company denied a requested procedure, she followed up and made sure it was approved and the test I needed happened. Highly recommend her!

I was recommended to this office. The receptionist was very kind and helpful. She linked me with this Doctor because she was the first available appointment. That is a mistake I WILL NEVER MAKE AGAIN! I had several concerns to be brought to the Doctor. She seemed heartless and uncaring. When she entered the room, she barely introduced herself and did not even offer a handshake! She sent me for several test and did not even offer to follow up with me! I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with how I was treated! I hope no one else allows themselves to be so disresoected by a Doctor who SHOULD be there to offer help and support.
