Dr. William Pai-Dei Chen

Dr. Chen did an excellent job on my double eyelid surgery. He was very detail oriented and the results of the surgery were very clean (mind you, I am a dentist and have a very keen eye for detail). He was with me from the very beginning-from the consultation to the final result--constantly checking in on me and providing me updates with the eye exercises I needed to do. He answered all my questions and was patient with me throughout the entire process. He helped me identify what look would be best for my eyes. This surgery is one I've wanted for my entire life. I prayed daily for guidance to find the right surgeon. All my friends and family knew he would be the one for me. He doesn't try to overcharge like other surgeons out there--he is really fair. He wrote the book on the Asian double eyelid surgery for heavens sake! Additionally, Dr. Chen's chair-side manners are amazing--there is no doubt he genuinely cares about his patients. My double eyelid surgery results are excellent. I knew he was the surgeon for me when I first met him because he answered all my questions with technical details. Also, this is his specialty and I liked that he did not do anything except work with the eyes. After my surgery, he was responsive to all my inquiries and worry. I've been very pleased with Dr. Chen from the first consult to the last follow-up appointment. My eyes look natural - the exact results I was looking for.

Dr. Chen did my primary double eyelid surgery. I requested a low tapered fold and he was not able to deliver. Immediately after surgery he said "I gave you a parallel fold" which is not what we discussed in the consultation.

I was very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Chen. Being a physician myself I was very impressed with the way he explained the details of the procedure to me and was very pleased with the outcome. Dr. Chen was in contact with me directly following the surgery to make sure I was doing well and to answer any questions I might have. I had my double eyelid revision surgery with Dr. Chen in the middle of 2015 to correct my previous one performed by another doctor. Revision surgery is much much much more difficult than the double eyelid surgery and my case is even more complicated. Dr. Chen did a great job. He carefully lowered and loosened my previous high and tight crease. I had a desired result when finished. Now after two years, my eyes look more and more natural. Speaking of Dr. Chen, he is a very professional doctor. He has lots of publications and is more like a professor. His experience and skills are undoubted. I really regret that I didn’t have my first surgery done by him. He is also a very responsible doctor. He keeps updating with patients and responds to questions very patiently and promptly. He is a reliable doctor!

Dr. Chen was recommended to me by another doctor I had a consult with. At that point, I had already had consults with a couple of other doctors and I felt I wouldn't find the right doctor-someone who knew what he was doing, was willing to do it to help me out, and not oversell. I was pleasantly surprised that Dr. Chen was that right doctor for me.

Before I was pregnant my right eyelid would droop intermittently for 1-2 weeks at a time accompanied with a headache- started about 4 years ago. But 3 months into my pregnancy, I completely lost the fold on my right lid. Left side was still normal. I saw 4 different Dr before I chose Dr Chen. About 9 months post partum I decided to have my right eyelid fixed. Dr Chen came highly recommended by another ophthalmologist and many other ophthalmologists have heard of him. After the surgery, I have regained my confidence and no longer suffer from migraines/headaches. Who knows if it was related or not? But all I know is that I no longer have the headaches! I am very happy with the results. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get bleph. Very caring and good bedside manner. He even called to follow up with me on a weekend!

This is a REAL review by a REAL patient and I have all the paperwork, records, photos to prove it. I had Asian eyelid surgery with Dr. Chen and my results were very bad. 2-3mm asymmetry between eyes, I have a lot of scarring, I have trouble closing my eyes.

I had 3 prior double eyelid surgeries by 2 different surgeons and they were never able to give me a double eyelid on the left eye, and only half of one on the right almost 10 years ago. I hated looking at myself everyday and didnt know if any doctor could even fix my eyes after all the work that has been done. I did so much research afterwards, and found Dr. Chen who specializes in this surgery. A lot of his patients are people who need revisions. He has written many books and taught many lectures and is so experienced. When I went to meet with him the first time 4 years ago, he told me that he think i needed more time before getting a revision done due to the skin on my left eye. He didnt just agree to do the surgery for money, he was completely honest with me and told me what he thought I should do to ensure a higher chance of success when the time comes. I listened, and waited patiently. Finally, I saw him again and he thoroughly assessed my eyes and felt confident enough to… attempt to fix my eyes as much as possible. Now, i knew it was going to absolutely perfect since my eyelids had been cut and messed with 3 times prior, but we hoped for the best. When the day came, i was nervous, but ready. he did such an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING job on my eyes! Right after the surgery he had me look and i was absolutely disbelief that he could do such an amazing job with what he had to work with. I am in LOVE with my eyes and they are healing so well. He even texts me to see how I am doing and to keep up with my recovery. Your eyes are something you see and look at everyday. Dont just choose someone who is close to you or gives you a great deal in price if you dont absolutely trust them and they dont have a LOT of experience in this surgery. (one of the previous surgeons offered to try again for free - but thats not worth it to me if he already failed twice..). If you are looking to get the double eyelid surgery for the first time or a revision.. choose Dr. Chen!!! I flew all the way from the east coast for him and I am SO happy I did. He is absolutely amazing and I now wake up looking at my eyes and I smile and feel so much more confident now. HE IS the BEST!
