Dr. Yuval Shafrir, MD

Several years ago our family was devastated from several problems affecting our son. Dr. Shafrir patiently worked with him to help diagnose a very complicated situation. Before Dr Shafrir, We had been to so many different doctors who never made a difference. Today, my son is doing well. It was a long journey that included self-medication with alcohol, but no more. He has a beautiful 3 year old daughter. I honestly do not know if we would have ever gotten to this point without Dr Shafrir's brilliance and patience. Parents....I know most of you are exhausted with trying to find help for your child's condition. If Dr Shafrir is running late for an appointment he probably was taking time with another child. His staff was horrible back then too, except for one. Her name was Marsha and she was wonderful. Thank you Dr Shafrir and Marsha??

My daughter has been his patient since 2012. Initially we saw him routinely now as an adult he is still followed her. He made a scary situation very manageable. He is calm, thorough, professional and brilliant! I can not say enough positive things about him as a doctor. My daughter feels very comfortable with him as her doctor and trusts him implicitly. Great bedside manner.

Office staff-not dependable. The doctor would never receive tests results that I faxed, lab faxed or reports from the pediatrician. For one of our appointments we were there at scheduled time and the doctor and receptionist were 25 min late. DOCTOR-before examination he spent at least 20 minutes making comments that community colleges are no good and asked our son just turned 17 if he was immature since he hasn't decided what classes to take for college. Our child was in some advanced classes in school, but had been diagnosed with POTS syndrome by tilt table test during summer. He struggles with constant headaches, chest & stomach pain, lightheaded, body pain, insomnia and nausea. Shafrir said he doesn't have POTS. He put him on a beta blocker and didn't schedule us for follow ups. I wish we would have never gone there! The doctor we see now said of course he has POTS, his legs, arms are red and his palms are purplish, but his vitals aren't showing it as in the past because his body… has excepted the condition.

He NEVER follows up you have to chase him down for everything. He gives you a email and pager number for no reason bc he doesn't return calls.

Dr. Shafrir is one of the best doctors that I've ever had. He will not leave until he's gone over every option, makes sure you understand what's going on, and that you agree with it. I highly recommend him

Wonderful doctor, very patient

Dr. Shafrir knows what he's talking about and figures things out thoroughly. It is hard to describe what a parent goes through finding a pediatric mental health professional that elicits any feeling of confidence. Nowadays, all doctors are inclined to simply prescribe Ritalin without much thought. Dr. S is not one of those guys. This little review is simply not space to say enough about him. He is the guy- period.

Dr. Shafrir is very caring and spends a lot of time with the patient; however, his office staff is very rude. Also, it is not easy to get an appointment and I usually have to wait 3-4 weeks for my daughter to be seen.
