Shannon L Urena, PA

Shannon Urena, M.S., PA-C is a board certified physician assistant (PA) and works alongside Dr. Alyssa Golas, the Director of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at JFK University Medical Center. Ms. Urena specializes in individualized treatment for both benign and malignant skin lesions. Her patient-centric approach ensures that each patient receives personalized care that balances medical necessity with aesthetic goals. 

Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, Ms. Urena served as a select provider in northeast Ohio, specializing in the treatment and excision of skin cancers and benign skin lesions. She has served on multiple committees, including the Rules Committee of the Ohio Association of PAs in 2021-2024. Ms. Urena was recognized as Preceptor of the Year at Mount Union University and received an Exceptional Preceptorship award from the state chapter of Ohio Associations of PAs.

Ms. Urena participates in legislative efforts in the House of Delegates for …the American Academy of Physician Associates. Her leadership in the field extends to public speaking engagements, mentoring the next generation of PAs, and participation in professional societies, reflecting her dedication to advancing PA practice and patient care standards.
