I have been seeing him several years and I am an adult woman. He is very empathic & appropriate. He is an excellent listener & is never judgemental. He does NOT treat me as a “disease” but as a unique individual. I read the 2 negative reviews on this site (one is repeated verbatim on Healthgrades) and had a very hard time believing these people were talking about the man I have been seeing for the last several years! Their comments do not at all comport w/my consistent experiences.

I’ve been a patient with Dr. Burstein for years and have a great appreciation for his philosophy of treatment, knowledge, and compassion. He stands out as a psychiatrist with his balanced approach and his overall concern for his patients’ well-being.

I was a patient of Dr. Burstein for several months and I highly recommend staying away from him. If you are looking for someone who is professional, knowledgable, patient focused, and genuinely interested in your well being, you should look elsewhere. He comes from a military background and is not genuinely sympathetic to the condition of patients. He is sneaky and kniving and not client focused. His office is also located in an unsafe neighborhood. There are plenty of other psychiatrists in the area that are probably much more suited for you than him.

Not sure why the other reviews are so negative about Dr Burstein. My experience with Dr. Burstein is that he is a very compassionate doctor who tries to genuinely understand my emotional issues. I have had many interactions with doctors over the years and Dr. Burstein really stands out as caring and knowledgeable. I feel he always has my best interest at heart.

At first, my experience with Dr. Burstein was positive and he provided great care. After a few months, I felt that he was more concerned about my money than helping me as a patient. I emailed him between appointments, and the only response I got was about needing to schedule another appointment and that his price per hour has increased. he ignored my concerns. I felt neglected as a patient and disappointed.

Don't bother seeing this guy if you are an adult woman. Behave in a way he does not approve of and he will drop you like a hot potato.
