Dr. Adeela Rizvi Ahsan, MD

I have been Dr Ahsan’s patient for over 15 years and very pleased with my experience at her care. It’s been good to be treated with absolute professionalism and care for all these years. Dr Ahsan is very thorough, takes her time with her patients, listens to them and I appreciate follow ups and willingness to answer questions. This is my best team of medical staff, I’ve been around for all these years. Dr Ahsan, coming to your office is like dealing with trusted family. Your extraordinary care really matters to me a lot.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Ahsan for several years. She is kind, caring and actually rather sweet with her older patients. She listens to what we tell her even when we start to ramble. She doesn't cut us off and takes her time with us. She understands what we tell her and discusses what to do next with us. My husband actually looks forward to his appointments with her.

Dr. Ahsan has been my PCP for five years. Prior to Covid I would have said she is a good doctor but not any more. It appears she is now employed by or contracted with by Hoag. She ordered some screening tests and insisted I get them done at Hoag. I said no, their charges are too high and she became irritated. On my recent telehealth visit (which she insisted on) I told I felt down, isolated, etc., and asked for a referral to a therapist. She told me to call my health plan. It then hit me that not once did she ask me how I was doing from a mental health perspective. Clearly, I was having problems but she couldn’t wait to get off the screen and on to her next patient so she could bill her $275/visit charge. Disappointed in her lack of caring and have found a new doctor.

Dr Ahsan is the most thorough Dr I have ever had. She has a great bedside manner, and extremely knowledgeable. Her staff are kind and efficient. Sometimes you have to wait, but that's because Dr Ahsan does not rush you. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ahsan's for 10 years. In that time, I have had only excellent care, with no negative experiences. Yes, you may have to wait a while to see her. But that is because so many people have discovered what an excellent doctor she is that too many people want an appointment with her. Yet, in order to give each patient her full attention, she only schedules 10 appointments in an 8 hour day, not one every 15 minutes as most other doctors do. If you need her in an emergency, she is always there for you. Once, when I needed to see a cardiologist before emergency surgery, I called her office for a referral. Even though Dr. Ahsan was out of the country at that time, her staff managed to contact her overnight and had the referral for me the next morning. I waited 4-6 weeks to see Dr. Ahsan who was not taking new patients. I arrive today and am required to complete a waiver of rights form, that would eliminate my rights to seek a malpractice case in a court of law, and would only allow an arbitrator to review a malpractice case and decide on the outcome. The arbitrator is form the medical field, and is usually on the side of the doctor that caused harm when these cases arise. I refused to sign this document and was told it was mandatory if I wanted to seek care at their office. If there was more focus on a higher standard of care towards patients, rather than the dollars earned, or how to avoid a lawsuit from poor care, then we all might benefit and reap the rewards of a medical system that is patient focused. Be careful what you sign. You might end up a victim of poor care, ad then have no rights or claims thereafter. Go find a doctor that cares for their patients more than whether you are going to sue them for there… poor level of care. I hope there still some these doctor's out there!

I started seeing Dr. Ahsan about five years ago. Over the past year she has cut her hours to two half days a week. If you have a job you won't be able to to Dr. Ahsan unless YOU take time off from work. Last time I wanted to see her I felt very ill, I was told I couldn't get into see her for six weeks. I went to urgent and learned I had the flu even though I had gotten the flu shot in Dr. Ahsan's office two months before. She is only interested in not being inconvenienced by her patients.

Dr Ahsan is great. She is patient, spends time listening, and answers all my question. She is very knowledgeable ,and is extremely thorough. Her staff is very efficient and very nice.
