Dr. Aivars Vitols, DO

My knee was ruined because he said fixing it after he did 4 surgeries was "to messy". Ruined my life!

Sent me to get an ultra sound costing $300 to see of I had torn ligaments or tendons. I knew I didn't have an injury. Waste of money. And works only 2 days a week.

Dr. Vitols has been my doctor for almost 30 years. Replaced both knees. Awesome doctor.

Dr Vitols .. time for you to take up another occupation. Your decision making isn't as good as maybe it use to be.

I would never see this dr again

Prior to surgery, this doctor seems to be bright, informed and sympathetic. Once I had shoulder surgery, it is the exact opposite. Three months after surgery, I still have not had the procedure explained to me. Two months after surgery, questioned the amount of pain I claimed to be in because in his words (you aren't asking me for narcotics so how much pain can you be in?) - which is laughable. One month after surgery was running 1 hour and half behind, came in for less than five minutes and did not even look at my shoulder. Had he looked, he would've noticed that his staff still had left my stitches in. I had to call his nurse a week later and asked about it. When she called back, she asked my 70 year old mother if she was comfortable taking them out. Again, laughable. Nearly four months after surgery, still in tremendous pain (upon movement of shoulder) and with an upcoming appointment, I don't know what to expect when I see him. I am def going to slow down this next visit and get… some answers.

He and the office staff were nice. That's about all I can say. They do not return phone calls. Still waiting for a call back after 2 weeks. Also, the Dr. is always running 45 minutes to an hour behind for scheduled appointments.

I waited too long before I consulted a surgeon so I had enjured my knee more than once. Dr Vitols diagnosed the problem right away and sent me for an MRI for confirmation. It's been two weeks since the operation and I am walking without a cane and with no discomfort to speak of. Needed meds only until the third day after surgery. Great communication to match his skill as a surgeon. I highly recommend.

After two shoulder surgeries, Two because he left something metal in my shoulder which ripped everything loose. After two years I finally get some use of my arm back. In my opinion, GO SOMEWHERE else if you value use of your extrmities.

I am very impressed with my visits to his office and with the degree that he evaluated my injury. I would recommend Dr. Vitols to anyone needing and Orthopedic D.O. His staff is very helpful too and overall everyone made me feel very comfortable during a myriad of problems. Can truly say that he got me quickly on my way to recovery and did it very comfortably too!!
