Dr. Alaa Youssef Afifi, MD

My brother, Trong, underwent a bypass surgery this March and is currently recovering. Dr. Afifi did a great job in reassuring my family and myself included. He did an amazing job on my brother's surgery, as well as checking up on him after the surgery and making sure that he was healthy and recovering well post-surgery. Even after he was discharged from the hospital, Dr. Afifi would have people checking up on him and making sure that he was getting the proper treatment outside of the hospital. He cares about his patients and is always there to help them at any given time and day. Our family is very grateful to him for the times that we call late at night, worrying about his medication, for his effort and hard work in my brother’s surgery, and for his caring and encouraging words. Our society needs a doctor who is as caring and hardworking as Dr. Afifi. He would always reassure me that my brother is a very strong and healthy man, and that he is recovering very well, and that he is a… brave and strong man. Thank you so, so much, Dr. Afifi, for everything that you have done for my brother and our family.

I am so grateful to have had Dr. Afifi as my surgeon. He is the most caring and hard working doctor you will ever meet. He treated me for a spontaneous pneumothorax. He thoroughly explained the surgery process to my family and me, and always addressed our questions and concerns. After surgery, he was constantly following up with me to ensure I was ok. I felt very safe in his care. I highly recommend Dr. Afifi!!

Dr. Afifi is an exceptional doctor. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and truly cares for his patients. I love it how he always explains things easy for us to understand and makes sure his patients and family understand the treatment plan. Dr. Afifi is the most hard working, caring doctor that I have ever met. He performed surgery on me for a collapsed lung back in 2015, and he continues to follow up with me. He is devoted to his patients, and makes himself available for any questions or concerns. At the time of surgery, I was very scared and nervous, but Dr. Afifi thoroughly explained the procedure, and I trusted being in his care. Everything went well, and I highly recommend Dr. Afifi!

Refer by my cardiologist, I met Dr. Afifi who did surgery on me. I seen many doctors but Dr. Afifi was little different. First, I didn't like Dr. Afifi but as I get to know him more, I like Dr. Afifi. I'm so glad to meet Dr. Afifi.

I have seen many doctors, but I have not seen anyone like Dr. Afifi. He is very caring, compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable. Dr. Afifi is our hero who rescued and gave our 84 years old mom a second chance in life while being compassionate to her and our family. He is an outstanding cardiothoracic surgeon. Our Mom who is an 83 yrs old lady and just had a Quadruple Bypass Surgery at FV Hospital by Dr Afifi two weeks ago. We are glad that we decided to have Dr Afifi treated our Mom . Dr Afifi catered the best care during her stay at the hospital along with his amazing team including Dr Mai Chinh , nurses and physical therapists in ICU ,and CC unit at Fourain Valley hospital . He was very informative about the surgery process and made sure we understood what to the process ..He also made sure our Mom has the best care that she needs. It was a challenge three weeks recovery for our Mom because she had some complications with her lungs , Dr Afifi came visiting my Mom everyday and treated her kindly . Our Mom is still on the recovery road but she is very pleased with Dr Afifi . Our family is very grateful and thank him for his professional care and kindness to our Mom .
