Dr. Alamelu Murugappan, MD

When I visited Dr Muru, after two other providers were pushing Botox injections for migraines, First my insurance would not cover it leaving me defeated. Recently, I have been having back to back migraines- the doctor was friendly, pleasantly easy to talk to, and LISTENED without judgement or interrupting and really comforted me in knowing she had a plan. A new plan of getting me back on track. This was music to my ears. I am waiting on my new meds and regime to get me better

I needed a Neurology consult after a hospital stay. I took all of my hospital records with me for Dr Muru to review. She flipped through the pages and said they were not complete and I needed to go to the hospital and get my complete records. I brought her my records, and she again said they were not what she wanted. I explained I wouldn’t know what was missing as I didn’t know what she was looking for. She told me to go stand in line at the hospital and pay 2 dollars a page, there should only be about 30 pages. I asked if she didn’t have access to the records for free and she said she “didn’t like to do that” She had me repeat all of the hospital tests and when I went to consult with here she didn’t have time for me and to leave the form she needed to sign and she would get around to it. Her false report cost me my drivers license for 6 months until I could be seen by some one else . The information I had given her was not what she reported. All the test results were normal as… were the ones from the hospital. Her office staff was very helpful and clearly embarrassed by her conduct. I would never recommend Dr Muru to anyone.

My father is 92 year old and suffers parkinson disease, he needed in emergency a refill of medication and her office has sending a several messages to order a prescription and for 4 dias en road, no refill prescription yet. very hard to find Dr Alemalu despite general doctor, insurance company and pharmacy train to contact her. Her office responded that there is nothing can be done. meanwhile my Father still waiting for the medication.

They cancel your appointments last minute, then they won’t refill your medicine until she sees you. Doctor doesn’t care about patients as all she does is type into her computer as she ask questions. No eye constact, just typing.

I have seen Dr Muru now on 3 ocassions the 1st i had to stop going due to lack of insurance, she was pleasant , took her time listened,,,, the 2nd time I had been to another nuero which obviously offended her because she said she would not see me again until a spinal tap was done... which i could not do , due to inability to pay copay ( drs never consider that patients arent just able to do what they want them to) I went for a third opinion ANOTHER quasi diagnosis!! 3 dr 3 differrent reasons for things :( very very frustrating. I had been hospitalized and had a consult with neurology her assistant was very helpful, when dr muru came in she seemed to talk down to me, very condescending I sincerely hopemy follow up goes better Im so over the pain and dr thing ............

Really nice doctor, helped me with my problem and I'm very happy with her very professional would highly recommend. EH

This is the second time I have seen Dr. Muru and my migraines have decreased with the regimen she started me on last month. Don't be surprised if you are waiting a little longer than your appt. time. It's well worth it! She takes time with her patients and she provides a thorough assessment. She is very helpful, knowledgeable, understanding, and provides the utmost care. She gives you a chance to ask any questions and she does not rush you. I love the fact that she remembered me since my last visit. Most Drs that I have went to treat me like a new pt every visit. One thing that I admire about her is she is also a teacher. I love that she has a willingness to show other residents the ropes. Being in the medical field, I love to see someone learn and succeed behind such a great doctor! Well done Dr. Muru! See you soon!

I am very grateful to Dr. Murugappan & her office staff (Yulu, Lisa and the others) for the level of care & compassion they have for their patients, for always taking the time to answer health related questions & concerns, promptly completing refills & scheduling appointments & in general for the overall quality of service received by Dr. Murugappan & her staff. Dr. Murugappan is an awesome neurologist, she is direct & truly cares about her patients welfare and wellbeing; will gladly recommend.

Awful experience every time we have seen this doctor. Patient has new onset seizures, multiple seizures every day. At the first doctor's visit she came in & was very rude, asked how we got the appointment because she was too busy & didn't have time to see another patient. Felt rushed through the appointment. When checking out, the doctor then came out & started scolding her staff right in front of me for squeezing in an appointment when she was too busy. Have had multiple tests run & have seen the doctor 3 times now (the last 2 doctor's visits were just as unpleasant as the first) & still no answers. The doctor is extremely vague & will not tell us anything or give any advice. She speaks in a very condescending manor & acts as if the patient is an inconvenience. Once the last test that she ordered has been done we will be going to a new neuro. I would NEVER recommend this lady to anyone who wants serious care & solutions.

Doctor wait time is 2 hours. When you finally do see her for a consultation (I was referred for Botox Protocol for Migraine Mgmt), she rushed through without even looking at my medical history, then told me my insurance doesn't cover the procedure (it does), & insisted I pay out of pocket. After that, I would never trust her to stick needles in me! Find someone else who isn't in practice for just the money.
