Dr. Alan Howard Cohen, MD

Dr. Cohen is a fantastic doctor with a great bedside manner. He’s highly regarded in his field and really took the time to talk to me and explain things to me. I’m thankful for him!

We were referred to Dr. Cohen’s office to set up a new patient visit for my elderly Mother-In Law. My understanding is that Dr Cohen is highly regarded, experienced and has a great reputation. In my attempts over the past 10 days, I’ve made repeated phone calls to their office in Long Beach to no avail. Upon calling, you reach a receptionist that then transfer you to the appointment person.... who hasn’t ever answered the phone when I called. Instead, you get a voicemail recording asking that you leave your name and number... and someone will call you right back. Well, after almost 2 weeks and several additional call back attempts / voicemails, I have yet to receive a call back to set up an appointment. I’ve now contacted CareMore and requested they refer us to a different practice as I’m reluctant to allow this office to manage My Mother-In Laws medical care when it seems, based on my experience, the staff cannot even manage to return a phone call, or adhere to a semblance of… good customer service practices.

I can't say the same for the Dr but his office staff was very rude I'm surprised that has such a great bedside manner as he does would have incompetent rude nursing staff due to his staff I will not be returning to his office as I question a Drs integrity for allowing his staff be such disrespectful idiots ! I'm giving them in the negative rating in stars ZERO!! ( for this to be posted I had to indicate a rating so if I could it would be giving them negative 5 stars ! Good luck and I recommend you going to another doctor.

Dr. Cohen is wonderful. He had a caring attitude, as shown by his amount of time to thoroughly go through my report with me, screen neuro function testing, and take a lot of time asking questions to clarify, and answering my questions. His experience, genuine caring and kind approach, are a hard-to-find combination in the rushed atmosphere of most offices today! His staff was very nice, too.
