Extremely experienced. Knowledgeable, caring and helpful.

He's the best. When I moved here, I had lived before in New York, and before that grew up in LA. Friends in both cities who had lived and worked in DC recommended Dr. Lipman. I'm a lawyer, as is my husband, and I knew that I needed someone smart, experienced, to help with both individual issues (work/life transitions) and relationship issues. When I say that he is the greatest, and I have been in therapy once before in my early 20's, and the second time in my 30s, I mean it. Several things stand out. He understands people with depth, and also with speed. You can feel the intelligence and experience. He is focused on helping, not just a person who sits there silently (had that once), and he does. He goes deep, stays with you, obviously cares. The mixture of intelligence, caring and experience is especially powerful. The fact that he is also a lawyer was also so helpful in understanding some of my issues, but is first and foremost a psychologist who knows how to help.
