Dr. Alan Howard Wynn

He was the best doctor I have ever had. He really cares about his patients and their well being. I read a review about him, saying that he is racist. Not true. I am African American and he has only treated me with the up most respect. Just heard he is no longer with Sentara.

My husband and I have been a patient of Dr Alan WYNN for nearly 20 years. Can't believe he a leaving his practice . Sentara must of done something terribly wrong to let this outstanding doctor leave their community. Kaiser Is very lucky to have him on their team. He does care about his patients.

My sons first time in going to this new doctor for us. Had a simple case of scabies- the Doctor said he had a rash, and didn't know why even though we specifically told him we felt like he had scabies. Our sons girlfriend then goes to her doctor and is immediately diagnosed and is treated for SCABIES. How can you trust a doctor that can't diagnose something as simple as this?? Shame on him. We spent 50.00 for this visit- for him to tell us our son has a rash.

I was a patient of Dr. Wynn's for almost 2 years. My initial contact with the office did not go so well. The lady that I spoke with about scheduling my appointment was extremely rude. However when I called back later to speak with a nurse she was more than willing to answer all of my questions and set my mind at ease. My first encounter with Dr. Wynn was great. He was very professional and seemed to really care about what I was saying to him. The next 2 visits I felt the same way. However something seemed to happen. Whenever I would call to schedule an appointment for a routine check up or because I was in pain I was told that they could not fit me in for a least 2 to 3 days. I also found it disheartening that when I called in to speak to a nurse or schedule and appointment it would take over an hour and sometimes 2 or 3 for them to return my calls. Dr. Wynn is a great man but for some reason he and I did not click as doctor and patient.

Dr. Wynn is a great, professional, intelligent doctor that inspires confidence. I went from having no primary care physician and a great deal of pain this morning to having a great primary care physician, a few referrals for specialists that I feel will help me address the issues, and a lot less stress about the pain I am in. His staff was helpful, courteous, personable, and professional from the initial call I made today (I was surprised they could actually fit me in today)through check in at the front desk to the excellent nurse who helped entertain the small children I had to take with me AND who told me what the doctor was doing and how long it would be until he came in (that was MIND BLOWING!! It made all the difference in the world that she managed my expectations by telling me roughly when to expect him... and it was true.) When Dr. Wynn saw me, I felt that he listened to me but guided the conversation so that I was giving him relevant information. Unlike doctors I have seen in… the past, I really got the sense that he took what I said, put it together with what he observed, and thought about it before giving me his impressions and referrals. Even when I checked out, the lovely staff member who helped me was very considerate, saw that I had small children with me, and was extremely thoughtful and accommodating. I am very surprised at the stark contrast between some of the reviews I have read and the reality of what I experienced there today. If you are looking for primary care, this is a great office.

dr wynn is abrupt and obviously prejudice he skins his nose up at me also his fingers.he doesnt take time out to listen and has no time to explain, he gets an attitude if you ask questions.

The doctor is prompt and professional. Staff is courteous and helpful.

Office staff (Michelle) is VERY RUDE and unhelpful. If his office staff is this horrible, I can't imagine how he is.
