Dr. Alan Zacharias, MD

I was having auras of fear and dizziness several times a day that were very unpleasant despite being short lasting. After several other doctors were unable to diagnose the cause, Dr Zacharias diagnosed the condition and was able to assure me it was not life threatening.

Cannot get the doctor to return my daughter's calls. Instead his assistant calls a day and a half later with misinformation, no knowledge of what meds my daughter is already on (obviously didn't read her chart), and tries to increase the dose of a medication the doctor put her on that, when taken, makes her pain worse. When I looked up the medication online, it specifically says DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION IF YOU HAVE...the condition she has. We are out of there. Not going back. In all fairness, we are equally frustrated with his staff as we are with him. Usually if staff is nasty or clueless, the doctor is good, or vice versa. But when both are sub-par, it's time to go elsewhere.

I've only relly seen Dr. Zacharias in the hospital thus far, but my journey will be a long one. He is calm and confident about my condition and gives me a lot of hope. He listens to my concerns, however crazy they might be, and takes the time to answer my questions - in the hospital and afterwards on the phone. In the scary situation that I'm in, I feel very lucky to have such a compassionate person on my side, working toward helping me heal.

I found Dr. Zacharias to be a caring individual who listened to me and my problem, gave me hope as to a solution, and provided good advice that worked.He answered my questions, both in the office and on the phone later, and gave me as much time as I needed. I appreciate his professional yet compassionate way.
