Dr. Albert Chun Loh Chen, MD

I have been a patient with Dr Chen since 2014. I became pregnant after my youngest child turned 18. I was so nervous being pregnant over 40 but he was self assuring and always answered any questions I or my husband had. I was always able to get my appointments. Dr. Chen also made sure that I was taken care of with extra caution and was very protective of me during my pregnancy. After my last child turned 4, my husband and I decided to have permanent sterilization. Dr. Chen reviewed everything with me. Made sure that it was what I wanted and again answered all questions. He also explained the procedure, what to expect and why he performs the surgery the way that he does that gave me extra confidence in the procedure and knew he was looking out for our best interest. Thank you Dr. Chen for always taking care of me!!!

I went to see Dr Chen 2 times; I have been very disappointed â?? 1) He spent about 3 â?? 5 minutes with me at each visit. I felt rushed. He ordered a bunch of tests (I had PPO insurance at that time) which I found out they were unnecessary according to another doctor I saw later. 2) When I called the office to ask for a copy of my blood test report, they told me they cannot send the report to me unless I make another appointment and see the doctor. So I made the appointment to see the doctor. When I see the doctor, he simply READ the report to me. I can READ too. He didnâ??t give any explanation/suggestion etc. He spent 3 â?? 5 mins with me just like the 1st time I saw him. When I was about leaving, he murmured to me something: sorry I have to run; I am late for a scheduled surgery. 3) The billing lady didnâ??t spend her time to call my new insurance, so they sent me a big bill after I visited the doctor, I had to pay cash out of my pocket (because she found out that the doctor is… not a network provider of my new insurance). 4) When I asked the billing lady why she doesnâ??t call my insurance before I visited the doctor(so I could chose to go to a doctor who is a network provider), she said she doesn't have time to call...than she got angry and threaten me to send my bill to collection agency if I donâ??t pay. I didnâ??t want to continue this argument and didnâ??t want to have my credit be ruinedâ?¦so I simply paid the amount she billed me. I will not recommend this doctor to my friends because I feel he doesnâ??t really care about the patients except his business. There are so many wonderful doctors out there, do some research, I am sure you will find a good one near you. Also, if you are already seeing this doctor, I think it is a good idea to call your insurance yourself, to understand what procedure is covered or uncovered. Donâ??t expect the office will do that work for you. You might be surprised by a big cash payment bill after seeing the doctor or a treatment. They will demand you to pay or they will send the bill to collection. They wonâ??t listen or have compassion for you.

Dr. Chen only spend 2-3 min with you and never answer your question directly. Dr. Chen just asks stuff to give me a prescription and doesnt tell me why I need it. He always ask staff to replay my call never himself. I dont how good Dr. Chen skill, but I know he isnt good dr when you need him.

DO NOT RECOMENT THIS DOCTOR. very bad customer service with office associates. Ignorant girl who collect office visit payments. Office manager is rude. Long waits at the office 25-35min wait. Dr. is always in a hurry due to many patiens at one time. Whenyou finally get to see him he only spends 5min or less with you. I talk about my cincerns and questions, he rudely inturrupts and soes not acknowledge. fails to call back with lab results good/bad. I attempted for a week calling everyday to either talk to Doctor or Office Manager. they never return my call. POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I suggest you look for a better OBGYN, they do exist. Grass is Greener on the other side.

Although Dr. Chen is what an excellent surgeon/gynecologist BUT his follow-up communications range from average to below average. I find this to be poor bedside manner. If you are too busy to communicate directly with the patient or the patient's family, then you should have an operating room nurse, provide updates. If your family is awaiting an update after surgery, good luck with that. He is M.I.A. I cannot take anything away from his surgical/medical skills or experience but the thing that separates a good doc from a great one is to have both medical skill and compassion (through effective communication).

The office staff is amazing. Cynthia and Maria are the best and always do their best to answer all my questions. Dr Chen treated me great but I did feel rushed. Only problem is the office manager, some asian lady who's name I don't remember, she was vey rude. Avoiding her is easy since she doesn't work at the office everyday, the two girls, Maria and Cynthia, make the office visit a very pleasant one.

great doctor and office staff is wounderful

This doctor is about quantity, NOT quality. He consistently spends very little time for each visit & schedules mutiple patients during the same time. Thus, he doesn't have enough time to sufficiently explain what is needed.

Dr.chen delivered all three of my children,and I'm currently on #4. My last pregnacy had some unexpected surprises towards the end.But Dr.chen was great, I had to have an emergency c-section he reassured me that I would be fine.My scar is virtually invisible he's the best.

his office charges everything! you even have to pay him $20 to sign SDI for my EDD application. he even charges $200 to collect cordblood while taking commission from cordblood company.
