Dr. Albert Joseph Divittorio JR., MD

Had facial skin cancer surgery and 3 months later everything healed so well that no visible scar could be seen and there was no recurrence of cancer.

Dr. Divittorio and her staff is unprofessional. My Mom has an appointment with him today, he cancelled and her staff only left me an voicemail message two and half hours before the appointment. Unfortunately my cell phone did not show up the message. I arranged babysitter for my kid and drove all the way from El Dorado Hills to Sacramento to pick up my Mom, and then drove her to Placerville to see Dr. Divittorio, only to found out that the appointment has been cancelled. When the office lady told me that she had left me a message, my cell phone still didn't show the message or missed call. I pushed "voicemail" twice, and finally it showed there is a voice mail. I don't know what's the problem with my cell phone, because this never happened before. But in any case, I think Dr. Divittorio's staff should make sure I got the message, she should ask me to call back to confirm that I got the cancellation message. If I did't call back, she should call me again to check. Not just make… a phone call and leave a message and that's it. My whole morning jogging along highway 50 is for nothing! Hugely dissapointed!!!

Dr diVittorio has taken care of me, my husband, my children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. He is warm, caring and leaves no stone unturned to find what might be wrong with you. When I had a stroke, we called his home and he met me in the ER in his work boots. Who could ask for more?!

I would like to say to the reviewer with the possible inguinal hernia-- you may find a surgeon with more polish in his bedside manner than Dr. diVittorio, but you won't find one with as much heart. As for the lack of gloves, Dr. diVittorio does things more old school--trust me if there had been blood or body fluids he would have protected himself, but he doesn't feel the need to slap on pair of gloves every time he has an interaction with a patient. He sees each patient as a human being first, and as a patient second. That kind of perspective is quickly being lost with younger generations of doctors. Also, he was touching your INTACT skin and he didn't see an obvious need to be wearing gloves. I'm sorry you found it creepy, it couldn't be farther from who Dr. diVittorio is. I am a nurse and I work with many different doctors and I know from first hand experience as both a patient of Dr. diVittorio's and a co-worker, that he is an excellent surgeon both in his skill level and in his… caring for his patients. He is an older gent and can come across gruff sometimes, but he genuinely cares deeply for his patients. We all know if Dr. diVittorio is grumpy, it is probably because he has a patient who isn't doing well and he is really taking it to heart. How many doctors do you know who give their home phone numbers out on their office answering machine? That should be like a flashing neon sign that Dr. diVittorio is one-of-a-kind. Read the other reviews, you will not find another surgeon in our area who has so many long time patients who love him so dearly or hold him in such high regard. It's because he gives his all to his patients and their health. He truly is one-of-a-kind.

An excellent doctor and surgeon. I highly recommend him for anyone needing surgery. Be prepared to hear it like it is and for him to be up front. He is honest, he is humble, he does excellent work and I know that would not be alive today had he not taken over my case. He will not stop until he finds the problem and is able to provide comfort to his patient. If there is nothing he can do for you he will tell you that as well.

This guy examined a suspect inquinal (groin) hernia -- BARE HANDED on my female body. Not exactly going where he shouldn't, but I felt it was inappropriate. What happened to gloves mister? That is wrong and just plain gross! He spent about 2 seconds with me and discarded a suspect hernia for some pulled muscle, which it's not. I'm an athlete and know a pulled muscle when I have one. I'm getting a 2nd opinion and would never recommend this Dr to anybody!

I have had the pleasure of being Dr. diVittorio's patient for two and a half years. He saved my life...literally. I couldn't have picked a better doctor for my situation. His bedside manner is what keeps me coming back. He's always available for questions or concerns and always willing to help.

I tried to reschedule an appointment with this office due to an accident I was in and said that she wouldn't be able to reschedule it. Rude office staff and stupid!!

i think he is great, and would recommend him to anyone.
