Dr. Alexander C Chester III, MD

Dr. Chester was my internist for many years and is still my benchmark for an outstanding doctor. No other doctor I've ever seen has been as excellent as he. Besides being a very caring dr. who truly listens to his patients, he always set up appointments for me with specialists, as needed, and I had a number of needs that way. I will never forget when I was on my way for a physical follow up to see him & had another car run into mine a few blocks from his office. I showed up for my appt. at 5:15 PM, 3 hours late, when he was turning out the office lights having waited for me. He caught a radiologist down the hall for x-rays & when I told him I had been unconscious for about 15 minutes, he prescribed meds & set up an appt. with the Chief of Neurology at Georgetown Univ Hosp for the next morning - I was very grateful as it turned out I had a severe concussion. The best doctor ever!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Chester for years, and I cannot begin to say how exceptional he is. I have never been kept waiting, and I am always pleasantly surprised to see that he has reviewed my file before every appointment. He is conservative in terms of tests and procedures, and never fails to follow up with a phone call to report test results or ask how procedures went. He is greatly respected within the Washington medical community, meaning that his patients have the benefit of early appointments with specialists and prompt attention at hospitals. I wish there were more doctors like Dr. Chester.

Dr. Chester is, first and foremost, one of the most alert, thorough and careful doctors in the entire area. He truly listens to and cares about his patients. He is a professional through and through. His referrals are always exactly what is needed, and he seems to know all the right doctors.

Rare combination of both outstanding diagnostician and clinician. Spends as much time as I want and takes a detailed history each time. Always has a helpful recommendation and is as excellent on preventative care as he is on current issues.Because he recommended a test based on my mother's history, I avoided a life threatening illness. Worth every penny and then some. Best part of referring to him, is how grateful everyone is.

Very thorough, takes time with patient, detailed history always taken. Typical physical is about an hour. Spends as much time as necesary on problems. Sound advice.Only drawback - extremely expensive.
