Dr. Alexander Y Zubkov, MD

He does nothing. He orders a test and then does not provide the results. We had to beg for a follow-up appointment to find the results, and it was months to get, even though his diagnose suggest that urgency is called for. You cannot reach his office. No one answers phone or returns your messages. He is scornful when you ask a question. I was shocked at his demeanor and lack of follow-through and interest.

Dr. Zubkov is extensive in his approach. He is an amazing diagnostician. He is very knowledgable. I really trust his advice. I would highly recommend him.

I am shocked by the behavior of this doctor. He sounded like a con man salesman, trying to guilt me into giving him significant amounts of money and cut our appointment short when I explained financially things are hard due to the pandemic and being unemployed. He was so dismissive and egotistical, I am truly flabbergasted by his lack of empathy, patience, and compassion. It was clear he is only interested in getting money from me. He quite literally referred to himself as a foreign luxury car and other doctors are low cost American cars. Comes off very self centered and arrogant.

PATIENT BEWARE! I believe Dr Alex Zubkov to be a highly capable neurologist and a physician we sought out for his balance of neuro expertise and holistic approach. That said -- I believe we have been fleeced! PLEASE exercise extreme caution with the tests Dr. Zubkov orders and this practice in general. We paid cash for our visit $527 (bc our insurance was not in-network) and then paid cash for an MRI ($1064) that Zubkov ordered. All reasonable charges for services. The doctor asked - and was highly aware of our payment for services that day. He ordered blood testing -- with our consent but no detail of tests-- and we had further discussion with him, and his assistants Twin and Jolene, regarding the most economical way to get the blood tests. I specifically asked for an approximate cost of the tests and we discussed the possibilities of having these tests done elsewhere. I was told it would require much time for them to itemize out the testing for us to price compare, and after I asked… for an estimate of potential costs -- Dr Zubkov offered up $800. Again - a reasonable cost for what may lead to answers for our 24 year old son. We then agreed to have the blood drawn by their at-the-ready Lab Corp Technician in the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology Edina office that day. We received the $4477.00 bill shortly thereafter from Labcorp. I assumed this bill was in error -- it was not! Dr. Zubkov has since refused to see my son (after a spirited exchange on the patient portal) and we are left with a $4477 blood test bill, no professional interpretation of results, and no answers. To say we feel victimized by this practice and doctor is an understatement.

He seems to believe he is absolutely correct and doesn't care to listen to what you feel is best. I actually figured out my own diet and it helped significantly, however when I told him about it, he took credit for it. I also found products he recommended from his website, much cheaper elsewhere, which I feel he did not appreciate. I also told him where to find several products he was interested in that I found on my own. The tests he wanted done were very costly and when I said I just could pay that much money, he said then he couldn't help me.

I've seen him a few times, not impressed. Btw, he sells supplements on his site and the entire visit is just about him trying to sell apps and books...what a joke

I saw Dr. Zubkov for a recent stroke. He gave me some sound information and advice, but then "prescribed" expensive, over the counter type supplements through an online site and ordered tests which seemed unrelated and excessive. I eat well already and he focuses on extreme nutritional measures (no grains, spring water only, fruit only in season) rather than common sense advice, such as increased exercise, weight control and concern about headaches. My own doctor said she would send me to a dietician if she had concerns, not a neurologist.

Dr. Zubkov puts incorrect information into medical records . Also he shows poor level of professionalism

In 2011 , I arrived at Fairview in a coma after suffering a SAH... my wife was told I had a 10% chance of surviving the ride...Dr. Zubkov and his staff has gotten me through this mess and I welcome my return visits with his team !

The best diagnostician in town for neuro vascular problems. He knows the inside vascular supply of the brain like no other. If you have a complicated problem like a stroke or aneurysm he is the one to see.
