Dr. Alexis Bahnmaier

Alexis Bahnmaier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia with over 12 years of experience working with clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. She also specializes in helping individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community work through questions of gender, sexuality, identity, as well as the social prejudices and anxieties associated with family, friends, and workplaces. Alexis earned her Master's degree in Social Workfrom Florida State University andimplements a warm counseling style that is interactive, and heavily client-centered. Focusing on treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, without using stigmatizing labels. Her approach combines cognitive-behavioral (CBT), humanistic, and solutions-focused (SFT) methods. Alexis will focus on tailoring sessions and treatment plans to meet your unique and specific needs.
