Dr. Alice Chao Cruz, MD

Dr. Cruz has been my primary care physician for over 20 years. I cannot speak more highly of her. She is a great doctor -- and I see a lot of doctors, both in my capacity as a patient and as an attorney that is involved in the use of doctors as forensic experts.

As far as recommending Dr. Cruz--already have

Everyone was very experienced. They listened to me, they gave advice and had clear instructions

Dr. Cruz was my Dr. for about 25 years. She decided to abandon her patients and move to Concierge service. She now charges $6000 per year to get a "membership" to the Cedars Compass program. For this you "get" to see her. I was not given any warning. I only got a note from Cedars telling me to find another Doctor or pay $6000 for a membership. So awful. I cannot believe she had zero loyalty to her long time patients. Very disappointing.

Dr. Cruz gives great explanations and takes all of the lab information into account. She makes lifestyle suggestions to improve my health. She is tremendously empathetic, She has a remarkable memory for detail - remembering things that I've told her months or years ago. I wish everyone I knew could have the opportunity to have Dr. Cruz as their physician.

Dr. Cruz is an unbelievably good doctor. She is always knowledgeable and up-to-date with her information, but far beyond that she is kind, attentive, and empathetic. I would never have joined Compass but for Dr. Cruz and If she ever decides to leave Cedars, I would leave as well. When I describe my experience with Dr. Cruz, people simply do not believe that anyone still practices medicine in the way that she does. She is the best of modern medicine and a family doctor.
