Dr. Coker took the time to listen to my issues and concerns. She quickly and effectively resolved my health issues. I appreciate her time, expertise, and her care and concern for her patient.

I scheduled an annual physical “consult” appointment as a first time NEW patient with Dr. Coker yesterday after selecting her as my primary doctor since she’s within my network and in close proximity to my home. Shortly after (3 hours later) I called back to reschedule my appointment I had made for the following day as I did not deem it urgent or necessary to go in being that there’s a global pandemic going on right now. Most cities nationwide including Miami have mandated social distancing and avoiding leaving home for any non urgent matters. I work in healthcare and I thought rescheduling my appointment till things calmed down would be the right choice to make during the crisis we are in. Apparently, this is not the case for Dr. Coker and staff. After explaining why coming in for something like a physical wasn’t in the best interest as me as a patient or other patients during a global pandemic, the reception/front desk manager told me that they had a strict one day cancellation… policy and that if I were to go ahead and cancel/reschedule my appointment that I just made 3 hours ago, I would be terminated as a patient from their practice. They were not willing to make any exceptions. Our government and politicians are making exceptions worldwide during this time. The world is amending policies to maintain low risk for patients. I spoke with neighbors who go or have gone to this doctor and they stated the only reason they go/went is convenience (location). They did say the Doctor is good overall but that the manager who’s in charge of scheduling terrible. I respect policies and part of why I chose to select Dr. Coker as my primary is because the positive reviews stated that the practice is very good about no wait time. Who doesn’t want that!?? However, I was completely turned off by the staff members arrogance and tone (extremely rude and dismissive). After our conversation, I ended up keeping my appointment because I felt obligated to and didn’t want to deal with hassle of calling my insurance company AGAIN to change my primary. This morning I decided not to go in. A doctor is only as good as her staff. I would be a hypocrite to go in and support a practice with a business model like this. I sent a lengthy email to Dr. Coker explaining why I was canceling and I received a text confirming that my appt was cancelled resulting in my termination as a patient. I figured if I was treated this way as a first timer, it can only get worse! No follow up call. No email response. This isn’t a plastic surgery practice for elective cosmetic surgeries, this is a family medical practice. Start acting like it. Also, make sure to read all the negative reviews because it seems that existing patients of Dr. Coker were terminated for showing up late and were unable to access medical records after. They were ignored numerous times by the practice.

As a health care provider myself and a current patient of Dr. Coker, I can state with confidience that Dr. Coker is an extremely knowledgable and caring doctor. She is always up to date on new appoaches in medicine, very attentive to details, spends adequate time with patients, and LISTENS to them. She acts in the best interest of her patients long-term, e.g. gives a chance to conservative treatments before prescribing medications, always warns patients about medications with addictive potential, does not over-prescribes antibiotics, and has proper monitoring for medication management. She gives exellent supervision and education to her extendend practioners (NPs and PAs). I have worked with Dr. Coker almost 2 years as a PA, and could not wish for a better boss. As for strict policies, those are perfect for busy professinals, very simple - you come on time, you are seen on time. Make your health a priority, and don't cancel your doctor's appointments. Observe proper boundaries,… don't push for "exceptions", follow the well-delinienated rules in policies, and you will receive the best medical care.

I went to this facility after finding Dr. Coker in my insurance provider directory hoping to establish a relationship with a normal PCP with the insurance I have through my employer. These people are so rude that I actually had to cancel the entire relationship after going there and getting several tests done. Even after cancelling they wont even respond to my emails about transferring my records, etc. When I call they flat out hang up on me, and I haven't done a thing I'm just a regular paying customer. All I wanted was a nice, regular, knowledgeable doctor and this is not it. You will not feel comfortable if you go here.
