Dr. Alka Bakul Patel, MD

Dr. Alka Patel is a board-certified physician specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics with 28 years of clinical experience. She earned her medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo and completed her residency training at the University of Maryland Medical System. This dual specialty training allows her to provide comprehensive care for patients across all age groups, from newborns through adults.

Dr. Patel practices at several locations including Mission Community Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center in Panorama City, California, as well as the Martinez VA Outpatient Clinic in Martinez, California. She has particular expertise in managing complex conditions such as type 2 diabetes and diabetic nerve damage. Her clinical skills include administering insulin therapy and teaching patients how to use autoinjector devices for their medications.
