Dr. Allister Gerald Gibbons, MD

Dr Gibbons at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute gave me the quickest eye exam I have ever had. It was just a quick look and the entire office call with him lasted at most 5 minutes. I paid my $20 copay when I arrived, then he charged an additional $349. He said that I did not need cataract surgery, when 3 previous ophthalmologists said that I did. His office billed it incorrectly according to my insurance. I made maybe 15 calls to University of MIami explaining this and my insurance representative called them three times explaining the incorrect billing. I got a dfferent representative each time and most were quite rude. Several said that Dr Gibbons refused to change the incorrect billing and University of Miami never corrected the billing. I was sent to collection twice. I will never go to Bascom Palmer Eye Insitute again.

Squeezed me in for an emergency. He was very nice, took his time, and explained everything very clearly. He is a great surgeon, and I would highly recommend him!

This doctor gives as much quality time as you need ...he explains everything thoroughly. Bright, personable, honest direct opinions, and completely trusted by me. I had a long wait with right eye pain in the Naples office but when I left the pain was gone & stayed gone! I'm blessed. All I needed was a tear-duct plug. I have extreme dry eye. He's the man!
