My elderly mother (late 70s) had reoccurring polyps and Dr Agarwal’s recommendation was to cut part of her colon! I went with her to the appt and questioned his approach. I had researched and asked about an alternative procedure that he said was only offered in Japan and not available in the US. I knew he was wrong and told him we wouldn’t be moving forward with surgery without getting a 2nd opinion. I also told him that Memorial Hermann doesn’t have the best reputation and I would be taking my mom to MD Anderson for a 2nd opinion. He is a surgeon so of course he wants to perform surgery without exploring less drastic options. We went to MD Anderson who said cutting her colon was premature and unnecessary. They suggested monitoring her by getting colonoscopies done every 6 months. MDACC also confirmed the procedure he said is only done in Japan is done at MDACC. Fast forward to present, the polyps have been removed, she is clear of polyps and everything has healed up very well… so now she goes back in one year for another colonoscopy. While colonoscopies are not pleasant, they are way better than getting your colon cut and potentially having a bag. GET A 2nd OPINION BEFORE LETTING Dr Agarwal perform surgery!!!

Dr. Agarwal is by far the best surgeon I have ever had, and he helped me get my life back. From the first appointment until my last, he always took the time to explain everything and make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Agarwal makes it very clear how much he cares about his patients in the way he treats them and their families. I have and will continue to recommend Dr Agarwal to anyone how needs help with their colon and rectal issues.

Whenever I see Dr. Agarwal, I always say “there’s my favorite doctor”! I figured he saved my life, or at least saved me from a slow and painful death. He did a colon resection on me, as well as removed a nasty abscess, which did not show up on the colonoscopy. I am 67 yrs old, and he told me I would be 95 percent a month after surgery, and he was right. He has a 10 day diet protocol before surgery which is supposed to help with faster healing. I think he did a fantastic job. I had no infection anywhere after surgery and he took good care of me. He is confident, capable, and very skillful, and young! I am glad he will be around for a while to take care of me!

Dr Agarwal did a 2 stage fistulotomy for my treatment of anal abcess fistula. Im almost healed up only have few more weeks to go. Dr Agrwal is a very able and skilled colorectal surgeon. Cant thanh him enough and his team and nurse evryone at the office too. Danny
