Dr. Amy Hollister Savagian, MD

As the last person, I wanted to like her because of the time she spends with you and she is very nice. However as a doctor to solve medical issues, unfortunately I have little confidence after my experience. She knows about supplements, identifying healthy ways to eat, but if you have a true medical issue I have to encourage people to seek a second opinion. A good nutritionist but lacking in some important areas that you would like in a doctor.

Dr. Amy Savagian, I went to Dr. Amy Savagian because a really good friend referred me and my doctor retired. I was looking for a doctor because I had a hurt back. I went to see her and she was able to get me in right away which I appreciated. However, she gave me meds and told me to rest my back. She also recommend fish oil to help my back. It didn't help. I went back to see her because my pain had worsened then she sent me to acupuncture doctor and PT. The acupuncture didn't help and even with insurance cost me over 100 dollars. I went to the PT the therapist took one look at the way I was walking and said "You have a broken back or disc." If a PT can tell that my back is broken and my disc is out of place in 5 minutes how come the doctor can't? I went and had an MRI done right away. It turns out my back was broken. I had a herniated disc over 8mm which is huge. I also, torn a disc in my back in half. I had to have surgery. Going to this doctor was the… worst mistake of my life. She cost me two months extra of pain and by the time I got a Doctor to help me I had drop foot and shooting pains in my leg. I'm still not recovered from what happened to me. The sad part is I liked her as a person, her staff was nice, appointments were easy to get, and I really thought in the future she would be able to help me with better nutrition which is her main medical focus. PS Did I mention that since she kept telling me I could work. I had to keep lifting things at work. I ended up lifting over a 100 pounds and hurting myself more. Then, even though she didn't know what was currently happening with me because I fired her as my doctor she told work man's comp company not to support my claim. She sent me back to work I got more hurt and she helped work comp insurance not me. My guess is it was to cover her own mistake in her diagnosis. It's sad she didn't put me her patient first. She never followed up to see how I was after surgery either.
