run the opposite direction quick! She misdiagnosed me with complex migraines was completely dismissive in the Scripps ER in Encinitas. I ended up having autoimmune encephalitis -I nearly died from this mistake

Dr. Wang is very knowledgeable, though she takes time to warm up to. Once she gets to know your she is great. Listens to what you have to say and responds in a means that is easily understandable.

My mother in law first saw Dr. Wang in the hospital after her stroke. Her follow up visit was made 1 month later. She waited in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours (she had tremendous back pain at that time) When she saw Dr. Wang, she prescribed a muscle relaxer for her back which sent my m-in-law to the ER because the muscle relaxer made her unresponsive. One year later, we tried to make an appt. with another Neurologist in the group and I was told she could not switch physicians in the group, it was up to Dr. Wang who she could see in the group. My m-in-law has a PPO insurance and can see any physician she chooses. The Neurology Center of Escondido has competition between the physicians in the group, that is why she could not make an appt with any other physician without their approval. Please do not condone this practice by seeing any of these physicians!!

Long wait for appointments (5 week wait both times!). Then long wait in waiting room. Have been twice. First time was over an hour. (I think it was 90 mins but don't wish to exaggerate.) Second time was at least 45 minutes. Trying to call by phone is almost impossible. Again, at least half an hour on "hold" each time. Today I had to return a call from scheduling person, but again an impossibly long wait, running up my phone bill and draining phone battery. Finally got to speak to someone who took my info, asked me to wait a moment . . . and half an hour later had still not come back! I have left messages twice, in response to recorded promise that my call will be returned within 24 (!) hours, but that has not happened. What on earth is going on? Regarding doctor: Jury is still out since final diagnosis not yet made. Just have to say that the office which one expects to be responsible for the smooth running of things, fails on every count. I am frustrated beyond… belief and am sure there are dozens more like me. This is simply not good enough. Have spent 3 months dealing with symptoms and at this rate it will be another few months. Would ask my primary dr. for referral to another neurologist but this group seems to be the only one in my insurance network.

Anchi is awesome> she is accurate and knowledgable..my most recent office visit was the best thus far. the trial meds are working famously! very pleased .

I was diagnozed with Parkinsons by Dr Wang in 2007. She has been a Godsend in every aspect of my care. Thank you Dr WaNG

All I'm going to say is BEWARE .....worst bedside manner that my husband and I have ever been subjected to.

First we received a pkg. of papers to fill out before the appointment, there were so many things needing answers ...most of which we didn't have answers to... The day of the appointment: We arrived 15-minutes early as requested in that pkg. of papers, checked in and paid the extremely outrageous fee of over $450, then were told to take a seat and we'd be called back shortly. So we took seats and proceeded to wait for OVER AN HOUR PAST the Scheduled Appointment Time ... There's no excuse for that at all. ... Black mark #1 against Dr. Wang.... When we were FINALLY called & escorted back to a little room, the nurse took my husband's blood pressure, asked a couple standard questions, and said Dr. Wang would be right in. Again we were left to wait for yet another 30-minutes... When Anchi Wang did manage to appear, she was very cold in her mannerisims, which both of us found quite rude. Never has any doctor treated us in such a fashion. She began asking questions to my husband....ones… ALREADY answered on those papers we had to fill out... She kept asking him the same things over & over, then would ask me the same things about him as if he wasn't even in the room, I told her "You just asked my husband that and he answered you." Then asked her why she's constantly asking the same questions we answered on the paperwork...she didn't answer. Black mark #s 2,3,& 4. She then proceeded to ask him if he had Bell's Palsy, and he answered in the negative, yet she insisted to ask him that... FINALLY, she took him out into the hallway, had him walk up and down several times, came back into the room, typing more on her laptop (which she did the whole time we were being interriogated by her) she never really acknowledged us as a proper doctor would/should, rather treated us as if we were stupid,uneducated children....Black marks #s 5,6, & 7 .... She diagnosed him with Parkinsons & prescribed him a medication called Adamentine (not sure if I spelled it correctly), which gave him major digestive tract problems & he couldn't leave the house for fear of needing to use the bathroom on short notice. We went for a follow-up appt., at which point she prescribed him a different medication Carbidopa-Levadopa, which replaced the 1st medication, the new one was supposed to reduce the tremors in his left arm, but instead made them worse and uncontrollable. The following Sunday, I was talking with a friend who's husband has Parkinsons, she asked me who our doctor was, I told her Anchi Wang, that's when she told me her husband had been one of her patients & Dr. Wang caused him to get worse & he became sicker for 9-months from the medications she put him on, then my friend said to stop going to Dr.Wang's and find another neurologist. I thanked her & said we wished that we had talked to her before seeing Dr. Wang. I would NEVER EVER recommend Dr. Anchi Wang to anyone I know for any reason. This doctor doesn't deserve even the 1star ratings I gave her.

This doctor (trained outside of U.S.) never returns phone calls and shows little expertise or compassion for patients. My mother sees her due to the fact she cannot drive outside of the area. I am a doctor and I recommend finding any other neurologist.
