Very knowledgeable

It is impossible to contact or get a message to Dr. Ferrara. Office personnel do not respond to requests or call back. If they can't charge you they ignore you. I needed a prescription refill and had to call another Dr. for help.

I would recommend Dr. Ferrara to anyone needing a colo-rectal surgeon. Dr. Ferrara has performed two extremely critical surgeries on my mother in the last 3 years with absolute success both times. He is kind, confident and honest with expectations but more important he is very, very good at his specialty. Wish there were more doctors like him!

One thing I noticed is, his attention is more towards the surgery rather than diagnosis.In all my visits he never spends more than 2 minutes in explaining the problem to me.

I have been a frequent flyer at the Colon & Rectal Clinic for the past 4 years. I have had over 15 surgeries with Dr. Ferrara. He is simply the best! He is extremely knowledgable and even when my condition (Crohn's) threw some curve balls, he never gave up on me. My treatment has been anything but textbook; however Ferrara cares for me and ensures he makes the best decisions to get me better in the long run. There have been times when I've showed up at the clinic without an appointment and extremely ill. The staff has been so kind and they have always gotten me in to see Dr. Ferrara, even if he didn't have office hours those days. I did have to wait, but he made it a priority to see me.A catch-22 for Dr. Ferrara is that he will take the time to answer your questions, explain your diagnois and discuss treatment options with you. I appreciate that he asks me my thoughts on treatment options, he always wants to make sure that you're as comfortable as possible. Being that he takes… times with all his patients he tends to run behind. I do not suggest making an appointment if you're pressed to be somewhere immediately after your appointment. This can be frustrating to some, however I'd rather him run behind than be rushed out the door with unanswered questions. Late is not the case with every appointment, sometimes I'm in and out really quick.Another wonderful benefit to the Colon & Rectal Clinic is the Underwood Surgery Center. It is the out-patient center that is in the same building as the CRC, just on the upper floor. The doctors who practice in the CRC use this center for their procedures - only a few of the major surgeries that require post hospital stay need to be done at ORMC. The blessing behind this surgery center is the cost! The cost is SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than going to ORMC for the same procedure. The reason for this is because Underwood Surgery Center does not need to charge the extremely inflated costs that the hospital administration & insurance companies require in the hospitals. We all have co-pays of some kind so it is nice to know you're going to get great service at 1/3 of the cost of going to the hospital.The staff (nurses, medical assistants, schedulers, billers, receptionists, frankly everyone there) is exceptional! Whether you're in the clinic or the surgery center you are going to be well taken care of. They take the time to help you, answer your questions and most importantly make sure you're comfortable.Colon & Rectal problems are an issue that many people don't want to talk about or address because of the embarassment or fear of treatment that goes along with talking about your butt. When friends and aquaintences learn of my condition and the course of treatments/surgeries I've gone through they often open up to me about concerns or symptoms they are experiencing. I have always recommended Dr. Ferrara! He has helped me so much and if I can pass that relief and peace of mind onto someone else, I will do so. I would recommend him, the CRC, and USC to anyone in central Florida who is in need of their services! A+ Doctor, A+ staff and A+ facility!!
