I had an appointment with Dr. Andres Endara-Bravo on November 22, 2023, at Memorial Medical Parkway. It was, by far, the worst experience of my life. As a severely suffering asthmatic, I have never met a doctor as blatantly ignorant, arrogant, and disrespectful, as Dr. Endara-Bravo. When he entered the room, he immediately asked what medication I was taking and wanted to see it, so I pulled my prescriptions out of my purse and showed him. He said, “That is not what I prescribed you.” I told him I may have accidentally brought the wrong prescription, as I have many, and he began explicitly blaming me for bringing and or using the prescription other than the ones he prescribed for me several months ago. He then told me that I should have brought my spacer for my inhaler, and that he needed to see it. I told him that I did not bring it because it would not fit in my purse, but I assured him that I have used it, to which he explicitly said, “If I don't see it, I don't believe it”, implying… that I am a liar.
A few months ago, I took a pulmonary function test in his office. That test was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Although I was told it was only supposed to take 20 minutes, it took me over an hour, and I could not even complete it. I was gasping for air, and very faint and lightheaded. The nurse even recommended that I go to the ER. However, for some reason, after the test, the nurse apparently wrote on her chart that I did complete the test and that I only had “mild to moderate” asthma and that I “was fine”. Of course, Dr. Endara-Bravo sided with the nurse, pointed to these false reports, and once again called me a liar.
He then asked me about some kind of medication that I had supposedly taken before, but I did not recognize the medicine, so I was honest with him and told him that I didn't know what that medication was for. Once again, not believing me, he pressed me to tell him about this medicine that I did not even know what was. Despite him being the doctor, he blamed me for not having information about a medication. Also, when he looked at his computer, he noticed that I had canceled a follow-up or two (because my family of six shares only one car, so I cannot keep many appointments) and he immediately said, “So, you've canceled several appointments. I wanted to note that, because that is important.” Even though it has no relevance to anything other than the amount of needless money he receives. Then, when I was explaining my symptoms of severe breathlessness, wheezing, and coughing, he said that he was not going to argue with me. He did not offer any solutions, any new medications, or anything else. He simply sat in his chair, called me a liar, blamed me for my own symptoms, and sent a suffering asthmatic home with nothing.
I paid a lot of money for this appointment, yet I received nothing but criticism and condemnation from the doctor whom I should have been able to trust. I have been struggling with asthma my entire life, and my symptoms are extremely severe, and they are worsening by the day. I am constantly short of breath, audibly wheezing, and violently coughing. I have never been treated with the amount of blatant ignorance, disrespect, and verbal abuse that Dr. Andres Endara-Bravo treated me with. He is the most selfish, arrogant, unkind person I have ever met. He violated the Hippocratic Oath that he swore by. He remorselessly neglected a suffering patient. He should not be a licensed, practicing physician.
