Dr. Andrew C Dean, PhD

Unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Dean was extremely disappointing. He served as the QME evaluator for my husband’s case following a catastrophic injury, and his evaluation was riddled with errors and personal biases that deeply impacted the integrity of the report. Dr. Dean appeared to lack understanding of the critical distinction between causation and apportionment — a basic yet essential aspect of any medico-legal assessment. This is especially troubling given the complex, trauma-related nature of my husband’s condition. His report did not reflect an informed or compassionate understanding of the psychological consequences of severe injury. It was clear that Dr. Dean does not have the depth of experience or expertise necessary to handle complex, traumatic cases like my husband’s. For something as serious and life-altering as this, accuracy, neutrality, and clinical insight are essential — and unfortunately, none of these were present in his initial evaluation. I would not… recommend Dr. Dean for cases involving significant trauma or complexity.

Dr. Dean exceeded my expectations in several ways in terms of the quality of his psychological testing techniques, attention to detail, and professional and empathetic demeanor. To give context, I have seen multiple mental health care workers (psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and nurses) in different settings over the years, and there have been some recent changes to my mental health and cognition, and some confusion and concerns over ongoing issues that I've had since childhood. I am now 33 and in a graduate program and was referred to seek psychoeducational testing through my psychiatrist after several sessions. Dr. Dean's assessment provided me even more valuable information than previous evaluations, and this has changed my outlook on my personal abilities, self-acceptance, and career trajectory in a positive way. He also provided resources and recommendations on how to improve my cognitive health and functioning that I had no idea would be accessible for me, and had not heard of… before. I trust that his 15+ years of experience, and his thorough and objective evaluation of my medical and behavioral health history, resulted in accurate diagnoses to address the difficult symptoms that I have been experiencing. Highly recommend his services for anyone in need of insight!

please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a doctor. Dr. Andrew Dean was the worst doctor I have ever seen. Scams his patients, has very little knowledge in his field, and he is a sociopath.
