Dr. Andrew Stephen Janik, MD

Dr Janik treats Bi Polar and the first psychiatrist to treat Patty Duke. I met him in 1987 with a bout of depression. he is the most educated Psychiatrist to ever treat patients with all kinds of psychisatical ailments.

Good Dr. He has the knowledge and experience. Understood my circumstance and explain my situation. Listened well. Was able to touch on accurate thoughts and feelings. Put me at ease. Positive and very helpful. Would definitely recommend him.

Not friendly, awful

Not a very good psychiatrist. He doesn't seem to relate to working class issues and pressures of everyday people.

I found Dr. Janik to be very kind and has a great bed-side manner. I was on more than half a dozen meds. He got me, to where I only have to take 2 meds. daily and now I am feeling wonderful. I truly appreciate what Dr. Janik has done for me and my mental and physical well being. I have recommended him to several of my friends and family. I can't praise him enough, my life was spared because of his attention to detail, and my feelings of what I was going through at the time. To all those who are hesitant, take a chance and make an appointment and find out for yourself that he is a wonderful person and doctor.

I saw him once. I had a bad feeling before ever going. He did not smile. I would describe the encounter as an interrogation. He interrupted me repeatedly. He was not interested in what I needed to say. He refused to validate any of my feelings. Dismissed my concerns. Told me so coldly it was frightening that he would not make any modifications to my medication even though I am in crises and have not seen a psychitrist for years. He accused me of having "a nice time" at the cost of the Federal Government, was accusatory, biased, and seemed to use me to project his own repressions upon. I have worked hard all of my life and have been victimized by the economy, etc. like so many of us now. If you seek someone with depth and a caring compassionate nature, a gentle wise counsel, I must advise that you look elsewhere. See this person at your peril. His staff is very nice though, in stark contrast. Biased. Unprofessional and profondly unkind. Physicians are advised to "first, do no… harm". This person, who went to a mediocre medical school, evidently was not able to incorporate that into his persona.
