I was very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Andrew Lam after a hole developed on my retina. He quickly diagnosed the serious problem and clearly explained what had to be done. The operation went very smoothly and he guided me through my recovery which went very well. I was surprised that I had no pain through the whole process and my eye healed completely.

Dr. Lam became my go-to ophthalmologist/surgeon after a detached retina necessitated emergency surgery. He was able to clarify the complexities of what had happened, as well as the follow-up care. The procedure and its aftermath were anxiety-inducing. But Dr. Lam was able to access the situation and proceed in a way that, in less capable hands, might--as I later learned--have resulted in blindness. It wasn't until my final visit when I discovered just how dire my diagnosis was, and how disastrous the outcome might have been. Finally, just by chance, I discovered that Dr. Lam had been mentored by a family friend at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. When I asked Jody Seymour-Pitzer if she had heard of Dr. Lam, she assured me that I was in the best of hands. Thank you, Dr. Lam, for your extraordinary level of care.

I was referred to Dr. Lam by the Berkshire Eye Center when I presented after hours with a Retinal Detachment. I was immediately seen in his office on a Sunday night and scheduled for surgery the following day at Bay State Medical Center. The surgery was performed without incident and my recovery and outcome was textbook excellent. Dr. Lam was superb in all aspects of this event, and I highly recommend his skills along with his staff for their attention to detail.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Lam; he's amazing. In my late 40's I am very young to be experiencing such serious eye issues as 2 partially detached retinas in 8 months! Several years ago, I was treated for a detached retina by Dr. Lam, He performed the necessary surgery and successfully restored my sight. I went to see Dr Lam with a Detached Retina basically blind in that eye.
