Dr. Andrew Wae Wong, MD

Dr. Wong was supposed to be treating my husband at the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital for bouts of confusion, altered mental status and seizures. Although my husband was admitted for mainly neurological symptoms and we were told Dr. Wong would be in to run tests and assess my husband's condition, after the 3rd day of not showing up, we finally had to complain to one of the supervisors. Eventually on the 4th day Dr. Wong came in and finally discussed my husbands condition and sent him for a short EEG. We then proceeded to spend an additional 8 days in the hospital with NO contact or further tests from Dr. Wong. After speaking to the hospitalist today (the 12th day here) we found out Dr. Wong wasnt coming to see my husband yet again, but he did leave a message it was okay to discharge him today. Still NOT 1 SINGLE FOLLOW UP VISIT OR FOLLOW-UP TEST BY DR. WONG. It wasn't until we demanded to see Dr. Wong or we would file a complaint with the medical board, that the… hospitalist (Dr. Serapanini - who seemed just as non compassionate and unconcernerned about my husband's seizures) convinced Dr. Wong to run a longer EEG today. They completed the test at 5:03pm and had my husband's nurse come in at 6:25pm to give him discharge paperwork. No appearance of Dr. Wong to discuss results, no recommendation as to what to do about the seizures that had not improved or lessened from Dr. Wong, no have a good night.....NOTHING. While all these doctor and hospital web sites sing songs of Dr. Andrew Wong's praises, i find it impossible to call him a caring, compassionate, or even competent doctor when he is ABSENT FROM ALL ASPECTS OF HIS PATIENTS CARE, TREATMENT, AND FOLLOW UP. 12 Days my husband spent here. 12 DAYS - and tonight he's going home with the exact same episodes of confusion, altered mental state, and what appears to be petit mal seizures they admitted him for due to Dr. Andrew Wong's incompetence, negligence, complete lack of patient compassion and/or a combination of all 3. If you want a Doctor that doesnt show up or talk to his patients, a doctor who really could care less about you, as long as he still gets paid, and a doctor that seems to not want or know (not sure which one) how to treat his patient's symptoms, then by all means, be sure to go see Dr. Wong today. Oh wait....you may have a hard time getting him to see you as he's apparently to busy or too well off to practice most days....so you will be waiting a while! Everyone else BEWARE of Dr. Andrew Wong!! As my veterinarian seems to have more knowledge and compassion than this guy. You would definitely be better off finding ANY other neurologist!! Good Luck!

After 7 month's with no answers or diagnose move on to new Dr was given a diagnosis after only 3 day's of Myasthenia Gravis disease something not taken lightly. Very unprofessional staff members didn't seem to know how to handle certain situations concerning my issue I was having and cancel so often !!! Very disappointed in this Dr and office staff !!!

Dr. Wong is very considerate of the needs of the patient, both physical and emotional. He takes the time needed to answer all of your questions and concerns to your complete satisfaction. He also saved me money on a very expensive medication I have to take post stroke. A very compassionate doctor. I highly recommend him.
