Dr. Andy John Wright, MD

Very unprofessional

Dr. Wright was attentive and sensitive to my needs. He spent as much time as needed with my questions, has called me himself to check on follow up. I can't say enough good things about him. As far as I'm concerned he has great bedside and communication manner. (Someone made a comment about showing up for a delivery sick... that's dedication to a patient and his profession.) I could rebuttal most of the negative comments, come join the medical field for 20 + years and you can rebuttal a lot of your own comments. He is a good doctor and a kind man.

Do not use this doctor.. I could ramble on all day about how horrible my birth story was. It's supposed to be the happiest day of your life. Dr. Wright stole that from us. He does not care about his patients!! By the grace of god I had a healthy baby!

Hes very unpersonal hes right in and out. Ive had more words between his nurse (his wife) than him the actual Dr. Hes painful while doing exams i know exams are usually uncomfortable but not painful everytime .

I HATE this man! When I went to him it was due to a female problem and he looked at me funny when he found out I was a Virgin! I mean really?? I was only 17! At 17, I was afraid of the Exam, had never had one and instead of making me feel "comfortable" with the awkward situation, he kept looking around at me when I wouldn't "relax" and his nurse was just standing there and she wouldn't say anything to me to even try to help out. He verbally put me to shame and told me that I needed Counseling! HE needs Counseling! He wasn't able to do the Exam because I couldn't relax, He made me feel just awful! He also said I need to "grow up and be a woman" and "if I was sexually active it would be easier for HIM to do" well that may be true but it was MY decision to remain a Virgin, and not his to make me feel ashamed! It's been 20 years now, and I have since had 2 Children and I had them later in life but I still remember that awful experience with Dr. Wright, (to me he doesn't deserve… to even be called a Dr.). You would think that years later I would forget it, I haven't! He is terrible and hateful, and I wouldn't send my dead dog to! I know there are great OB/GYN's out there and I have one now, far cry from "Dr" Wright who in MY opinion should be named Dr. Wrong! My advise: If you have a young girl that needs to go to the GYN, do not send her here! EVER!!!!! I have actually talked to other women that have been to him recently and they will not go back either! I took the time to write this because I feel that other's need to know that he is a bad man, and never should have become a "Dr." Okay that's all~~

I had two awful experiences with this Doctor. I was delivering my third child in the hospital and dilating so quickly. Dr. Wright was running late and I was told to stop pushing. But how was I suppose to stop pushing when the contractions were coming? He arrived 30 minutes late and delivered my baby. Unfortunately, I end up going back to Dr. Wight because I could not find another doctor accepting patients at the time with my insurance. The fourth time around Dr. Wright was more rude and less caring. He would come in and listen to the heartbeat and state that all was good and then leave. I would have to ask his nurses if I had any unanswered questions or concerns. At 34 weeks he mistakenly marks me down in my chart as 32 weeks and did not want to see me for another four weeks. I was already dilating at the time so I tried to confirm with him that I was 34 weeks, instead he brushed me off. I was upset. Four weeks later I came in and he was like "Oh,you're dilating! And your actually… further along." I was like, "DUH!" I finally delivered my baby at 37 weeks. I missed my last appointment. but never bothered to reschedule because of the bad experiences I have with Dr. Wright. I would not recommend him to others.

I found Dr. Wright after a difficult home birth. He is laid back and respectful of home birth. His nurse (his wife) was awesome and both friendly and competent. I received exceptional care and physical and emotional support from them both and their staff. During my labor and delivery he was completely hands off, which I loved. If you want a hand holder you need to keep looking! I cannot recommend Dr. Wright enough!

I was in labor with my first child and he was on call for my doctor, his partner. I progressed very quickly and dialated from 3-10 in 30 minutes. Not only did he not come in when called repeatedly but he showed up with the FLU!! We were astounded but there was nothing that we could do because the baby was crowned and we could tell that the staff was upset. Imagine a physician (and I use that term very loosely here) showing up to deliver a baby with the flu! He hardly would talk to us or acknowledge us, pretty much ignored all of our questions like we weren't even there (what did he think he was doing, I wonder), acted like we were an inconvenience and complained when HIS lengthy delay caused the baby to go back a bit in the birth canal like it was my fault (well, excuuuuse me!). I told my regular doctor, and he apologized but that was all. I got the distinct feeling that this had happened before so when my doctor couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen again, I promtly left and… found a much better doctor for my second child. He has a reputation for wacky behavior and I cannot possibly understand how these women who give him a positive review have had such a different experience than ours.

Horrible! Most Awful experience ever. I was at the hospital at 11pm in labor. He didnt respond to his pages but just showed up at the hospital at 7AM just to leave again. I was fully dilated for over 5 hours before he came back to deliver my baby!! He ended up having to use the forceps unnecessarily and I ended up with 4th degree tears! Also took phone calls on his cell phone in the delivery room... I could seriously go on all day! DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!

I love Dr Wright he is a great Dr. I have used him for over 15 years and he has and was a very person doctor. I had a problem with my pregnancy and needed a script for something at Bach Medical and Dr Wright brought it to Bach Medical for me. I love him and his staff they are the best.
