Dr. Angela Maria Hopkins-Luna, MD

I had an incredibly traumatic labor in 2011 that left both physical and emotional scars. I rejected the idea of OB’s entirely and sought out help from my local midwives for my second pregnancy. It was a wonderful experience and I labored for 19 hours naturally and ended up needing an emergency c section. I was hysterically trembling and hyperventilating, I couldn’t think of anything worse than a repeat of my first delivery. I’m so thankful that Dr. Luna was on call that night. She walked me through every step she was taking, she validated all of my feelings, she was so gentle and nurturing while also quickly handling the emergency at hand. I delivered a healthy baby boy and she came in once we settled into our room the next day to see and hold him, as well as love on us. It was such a healing experience, even though the outcome was the same as my first birth. I’ve been a faithful patient ever since! I now have three healthy kids and we’re in the process of planning our fourth and… there’s no one I’d trust more than Dr. Luna to take care of us.

This was my first visit as a new patient and my last. I asked my primary doctor to recommend a a black female gynecologist and he provided me with Dr. Hopkins Luna. I’m not sure if it was because my appointment was early in the morning but everyone seemed to be still asleep. The receptionist was lackadaisical, yawning while I asking questions. She was on her cellphone while I was at the window. My first impression of the office is “they’re unprofessional.” Then a nurse takes me to an examination room asks me what issues I’m having and then cuts me off and says the dr will be in. The dr walks in as if she’s unsure if she belongs there. She says hi and nothing else. So I say hi and wait for her to introduce herself BECAUSE IM HER NEW PATIENT WHO HAS NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE! She literally just says her name then stares at me, so I say my name. Like it’s the weirdest encounter I’ve ever had with any doctor. My previous gym had her office inside of the suite. For new patients you would go… in her office to be introduced discuss why you came in that day and go to the examination room. Sometimes I would even end the visit with stopping in her office to rap up any questions. Make your patients comfortable! Not this dr. So after the exam Dr.Luna tells me to take a sample and come back to the examination room to discuss some solutions. When I finish the sample the nurse gives me a print out and says I can look over it and rushes me to the front desk. I tell her that I am supposed to be speaking with the dr to rap up my visit. The nurse tells me no the dr said she finished and you can just look over this paper. The dr just told me to meet her back in the room to finish talking now I’m being told the appointment is over. This was horrible service. I was expecting way more communication than what I received.

Dr. Luna is simply amazing

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Hopkins-Luna. She TRULY cares about her patients, which I have not found in many other doctors. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and will always do what is best for you! I love she is not quick to put me on medications or have me do unnecessary medical procedures. My health and comfort is her priority! To top it off, her angelic like spirit (I am not kidding) is so calming and peaceful. I truly do trust her with my life.

She's the best, always talk you through what she doing when examining you, always pleasant, diagnoses always spot on, compassionate an gental, love her practice.

Dr. Luna is absolutely amazing. Her spirit is warm and welcoming. You never feel as if you in a doctors office. She's personable and relatable. I have been a patient for several years, and would recommend everyone I know to her. It's definitely worth the drive from wherever you are.

As a new patient I was extremely pleased with my entire visit. The scheduling of an appointment was easy and an appointment date was provided earlier than I ever imagined. Dr. Luna's bedside manner and the promptness off her follow-up was exemplary!

The doctor is absolutely wonderful, but unfortunately her staff at her Pikesville office are rude and dismissive. This has been the case for years. The doctor is so wonderful that I feel putting up with the staff is worth it in order to see her. I also work in healthcare so I understand that many days are stressful, but it is important to provide a welcoming environment for your patients (and to treat them like real people with real concerns, not just "someone you have to deal with").

I am a new patient of Dr. Luna. The atmosphere was warn and engaging. Staff was very professional. Dr. Luna was very personable, professional and caring. I am happy that my primary physician referred me to her.

Dr. Hopkins-Luna and her staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease on my first visit , with their professionalism. The doctor is a very competent, compassionate, experienced, empathetic, nice, soothing and very much a professional who is good at what she does. She is very personable, so much so that you feel comfortable telling her anything that may be of concern, regarding your body. T can truly say that she is the best gynecologist that I have ever had and I am a 49 year married mother of two children.
