Dr. Angela Ivy Risser, MD

Dr. Risser was my doctor when I had my daughter. My water broke at 2 a.m. New Year's Day (about three weeks before my due date). We went to the hospital she told us to go to, then she didn't show up until 10:30 p.m. that day after nurses discovered my baby was breach (and they almost didn't discover that before I started to push). Had an emergency C-section. She delivered my daughter at 11:17 p.m. I had an epidural that didn't take, and we could have used a doctor's expertise after a few hours of labor.

I met with Dr. Risser today for the first time. I am very glad I went for a second opinion. Dr. Risser’s exam was very thorough and she explained everything. She gave me several options regarding surgical and nonsurgical treatments for a gynecological and urological problem. I am very happy with her suggestions.

I have been seeing Dr. Risser for three years and I liked her until I had an abnormal Pap smear. First it took 35 days for me to get my pap results. Then when it came back abnormal and was told I need to have a colposcopy and biopsy it took her 2 days to call me back. When I went for the biopsy my mom went with me and was going to come back with me to ask some questions. The nurse told my mom to wait because there wasn't a room ready yet. Well by the time the nurse was done taking my vitals there was a room ready. One would think that the nurse would have gone to get her but nope she didn't. I was left in the room alone and a nervous wreck for over a half hour while I heard Dr. Risser laughing in the hall. After the biopsy Dr. Risser told me nothing except she wanted to see me in 2 weeks to give me my results. I asked if I could get the results over the phone and she said no which was fine but she added "in case the results are really bad." What kind of doctor says that? A week later… my results were back and she called to tell me that the results were bad and I needed to have leep or a cone biopsy. I was clearly upset but you offered no comfort or suggestion of which procedure to undergo and told me that she couldn't rule out that it isn't cancer. I had to guess what procedure I should have and she gave me little to information and when my pathology results were posted online I was even more confused and upset because I was left to research them on my own. We all know what comes of googling your medical condition. I am having the leep procedure tomorrow and am having so much anxiety because I don't trust her but I feel like I have to let her do the procedure because I don't want to put myself at a higher risk. I can't wait to find another doctor for the follow up. If you have a job forgot trying to make an appointment that works with your schedule because she is hardly in the office. She has no evening hours and is only in 1 Saturday a month.

I've been going to to Dr. Risser since I was 16 years old, I am currently 26. When I first went to her I liked her she explained what she was going to do and what was happening. She put me on the Pill and when I turned 18 I choice to stop taking them. I NEVER got my period back. I asked her every time I went is this okay, and she would tell me yes it will come back on it's own. Once In awhile she would give me provera. but never gave me my period back after that month. When I was bleeding after sex I told her about it and she did an biopsy on me said I am precancerous because of the lack of periods I have had and wants me to take the depo shot when I asked for something else she told me their is nothing else. She did not do a good job explaining to me why I could not have something else. She is always in a rush and has no time for her patients. I guess they updated their site to where your test results you can view them on the computer well there was a few things on there she never… told me about! And my biopsy exam was never on it. makes me wonder if it was a lie just for money. Its nearly impossible to schedule an appointment with her. The staff their is rude! not all but most are. I am currently looking for a new doctor. I suggest all to stay away from this one.

She was super nice but always in a huge hurry. We scheduled a day for me to be induced with my first pregnancy and I told everyone the date and then she called saying she's actually be out of town that day, she forgot. Then when we saw her she was like we are rescheduling because I'll be out of town right I was like idk will you!? It was all very confusing and probably more stressful then it has to be. Then I put in a maternity leave for 12 weeks and she only did it for 6 weeks! Now I have to call her for an extension!

I was having grand mal seizures monthly. I documented them for months and determined it was when I ovulate. So I asked if she could do a hormone test or inspect why I have seizures 2 weeks before my cycle EVERY month. She simply said, "Youre too young for health problems, you'll be fine" and walked out. Grand mal seizures could've severely injured me (or worse)! She has NO concern for your health! Stay clear!!!!!!!

I have been going to Dr.Risser for about 8 years for regular visits. So I have become used to her just coming into the room and getting straight to the exam and getting out. She seemed to always be rushing through everything. I got pregnant in early February. This was my first pregnancy so I was beyond excited. I she dulled my appointment to see her and find out what to and what not to do any kind of information I can get from her. She said she will see me in a few weeks and sent us on our way(my husband was with me the entire time in the exam room). A week later I started bleeding. I was maybe 5 weeks along. I went to have a ultrasound and she tells me she sees something strange but can't get a good picture to schedule a ultrasound. She tells me that this may not be a viable pregnancy and of course I'm upset and being to cry, she just walks out! As we're leaving she tells us she will see us in a few weeks and not to have sex!!! That's it! Those are the only instructions she tells us.… So at this point I don't know what to think. Will i lose my baby or not? I had heavier bleeding and went to the emergency room and had a resident doctor explain more to me and was more sympathetic to me and my husband explaining that we may loose our baby. About 3 weeks after my first visit I was in the emergency room bleeding severely with the worst pain I have ever felt. I lost my babies that night. I was pregnant with triplets. I found out that I was pregnant with triplets from a nurse who was only drawing my blood and scheduling appointments! No one told me how many babies I was carrying but apparently everyone could go into my chart and know more than me. Great HIPAA violation!!

disregard for pain, issues. Unable to ask questions without feeling like you are bothering her. Has no regard for patients. Did surgical procedure and had issues soon after which continued for years. Finally found another doctor who through an extensive exam was able to pinpoint the reason for all the pain and luckily found such extensive issues and was able to do major surgery to save my life. I cannot believe Angela Risser still has a medical license. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor.

Do not choose Dr. Risser if you are looking for a doctor who is concerned with your needs. Each appointment she acted like she was in a huge hurry and couldn't be bothered with any questions. Her answers to questions I had were short and not complete. I would never recommend her to anyone. I left and found a different doctor that had a much better bedside manner.

if you want to be rushed when it comes to telling her what your problem is this is the perfect doctor. you wait so long and then in the room you feel like you need to spit out your problem because she acts in a way that says "im giving you 10 seconds with me and then im on to the next patient"she also , in a rush, wrote me the wrong birth control prescription causing me to not get the right one on time for my next cycle.
