Dr. Ann Marie Khalsa, MD

The best Doctor I have ever been to! Dr Khalsa has been my doctor for over 14years as well as my family doctor for my adult son. Dr. Kalsa truly cares about her patients. I was actively using when I began seeing her and she never shamed me but gave me great care and supported me as well as great referrals. I'm now sober and have been for 9 years and she continues to give me amazing care and support. Phenomenal Doctor!!

She save my life.

After about a year I knew I needed to find a new doctor. She is very nice, but she usually tells you what she wants you to do and really doesn't seem to care what you think. Again she is nice, but I just don't like her approach that because she is the doctor, I should just do what she says - no questions asked.

The HIV/GLBT community needs to be alerted to alarming trends and events recently occurring at McDowell Healthcare Center. I am a 51 year old male, HIV positive for ten years with stable t-cell counts (500 range) and low, consistently decreasing viral loads (under 10,000). At no time in this period have I come anywhere near to an AIDS diagnosis.. I met with Ann Khalsa to discuss recent blood tests. Upon telling Dr. Khalsa that my test results did not warrant taking HIV medication she proceeded to browbeat me regarding my decision. Condescending phrases such as "get with the program" and "if you refuse to take your medication I'll ban you from this clinic" were hurled at me. She derided my prior decision to change doctors, once again disregarding my freedom of choice. When my new test results came back, my CD4 cells increased and viral load went down with no medication. Two weeks after my visit with pharmacist Khalsa, I received a certified letter informing me… that NO Maricopa Integrated Health System clinic will provide me with ANY medical care. Apparently it was not enough for us to terminate our physician/patient relationship. She has now terminated my medical care as well, based on my personal decisions. Her appearance is bizarre and unprofessional. It looks like she assembled her wardrobe from the rack at a homeless shelter while under the influence of drugs. This woman has a problem with heterosexual males. I wonder why?

Anne Khalsa is the definitive example of a quack HIV Doctor. I am co-infected with the hepatitis B virus and during my visit there was no mention at all of standard protocol alpha feta protein or CAT scan testing during my visit. I had to bring this up on my own. Whenever visiting an HIV doctor or any other physician for that matter, ask them if they have a financial relationship with any pharmaceutical companies. Do not be fooled by fake reviews that refer to them as " Greeeat! ". Do your homework and don't have the medications foisted on you prematurely. If you suspect problems- file a complaint with the Arizona Medical Board. This "doctor" is low-quality indeed.

I couldn't help but agree wholeheartedly with GLBT community alert posted earlier this year. It is business as usual with Dr. Khalsa. When I visited her last month she presented a very poor picture as a physician. Strange clothing, an obsession with lights in the room and an obsession with " taking your meds " and too many personal questions that had little to do with my health. What's up with this woman? An altogether bad vibe coupled with the feeling that she just does not like assertive heterosexual males. "Beware the bearded woman" Hungarian saying. name withheld for fear of retaliation
