Using a high speed drill my R/ hand twisted, breaking all the bones. It been 18 years now since Dr. Plate did my full fusion R/wrist. Over the years as I seen different Doctors for my back and knee, they all looked at the X ray of my metal plate (full wrist fusion) asking me - who was the ARTIST ? I was very lucky to have DR. I’m writing this as I look back on my life and thank her for helping me. I injured my hand in college tearing 2 tendons and nerves as a broken fence went through my hand. Without her help I know I would be disfigured. I’m very lucky to have been referred to her and she advised on imeditate surgery the next day. Dr. Plate was an excellent hand surgeon. First, she corrected a mis-diagnosis I'd received at the Carle Clinic in Urban, IL. After surgery, I made an oblique comment to her staff, and she called on Saturday to ensure everything was ok and my comment wasn't due to any actually incident.I also mentioned to Dr. Plate my concern about the B-19 virus and its correlation to carpel tunnel syndrome. She called back after having looking at the research on med line.Dr. Plate is an excellent surgeon, a compassionate doctor and will listen frankly to your concerns.
