Dr. Anna K Feitelson, MD

Dr. Anna Feitelson had been my gynecologist for over a decade and since I turned 16 years old. Other than irregular periods I never had any major concerns. I was an easy patient and that was easy for her. However, in my late twenties, I was sexually assaulted, and how I was treated afterward was despicable. During my last visit, I was hesitant to be touched and I didn't feel comfortable giving some samples. The nurse was unkind and impatient and because of that, I got upset and complained. The office manager told me I was overreacting and because of that, I lost my temper. I thought having built great rapport with Dr. Feitelson over the years and considering the situation I was in, I would be treated with greater understanding and compassion. Instead, I was told that I was making the office an unsafe place for the workers and other patients and I was told to leave. What prompted me to write this review was this: I just checked my chart and the notes for that visited two years ago… included a diagnosis of "anger". Anger is not a diagnosis. Sexual assault is not a diagnosis. Dr. Feitelson, in my opinion, is a terrible doctor.

Dr. Feitelson is kind, compassionate, and patient. She's been my doctor for almost 10 years and I have full trust in her. She goes to extra mile to take care of her patients, calling and checking on them, and quick to respond to questions both by email and by phone. She is amazing and I have stayed healthy from a reproductive perspective (and mental, at times) because of her.

Dr. Feitelson is an exceptional doctor.

This doctor was not friendly. Her bedside manner was horrible. She was not sympathetic, and was not informative. She acted like she did not have time for any questions and did not attend to my needs. I would not recommend her to anyone.

I was her patient for several years until I became an ob patient of hers. After I had my first child I struggled with breastfeeding and at one point call her nurse to tell them I I was in pain (breast) her nurse wanted me to come in that day to be checked for mastitis. Turns out I only had a clogged milk duct but Dr. Feitelson scolded me, like a child, because I didn't know the difference, as I I was wastin her time. This want the only time that I thought her responses to my questions we very matter of fact and cold in her response but this breastfeeding issue on a new mom was the last straw. She has forgot it's about the patients and this is new to them even though she sees hundreds of people a day.

I have visited her about 5 times in 3 years. I had missed periods and believed I had pcos or a tumor. She prescribed to birth control and I didn't have a change. I still continued having pain and irregular periods. I would book appointments and tell her about my problems and she would always chalk it up to me being overweight or my birth control. Even though I had these issue before. She gave me a Pap smear every time though and they always came back good. She never diagnosed me with anything but always said my problems came from me being overweight. It always seemed like an excuse. She told me she wasn't worried about my ovaries but she was worried about my heart then wanted me to get a diabetes screening. She ignored all my problems.

It was easy to get an appointment, and the wait time was reasonable. My satisfaction ends there. Her "nurse" was extremely rude and unprofessional, and flat out told me that I am not having any pain, despite a diagnosis that requires surgical follow up. Dr. Feitelson herself seemed "flighty" frequently forgetting answers to questions is provided more than once. She seemed unsure of her own diagnosis and provided me with no answers or follow up. Some of the possibilities she suggested were impossible based on my history (possible ectopic pregnancy when I had had a rival 9 years ago). I wouldn't recommend her based on her nurses rudeness and chronic smokers cough alone, but the doctor herself did nothing to counter that. Followed up for a second opinion with another practice and am extremely pleased.

It is one thing to have this woman for yearly check ups, but if you are expecting, BEWARE. First off, she is extremely moody, you never know which mood you'll catch her in. I had a very rough pregnancy and almost lost my life with my son-God forbid if something goes wrong, she lacks knowledge of what to do and because she doesn't know what's wrong or why my blood pressure is dropping, I am passing out, etc- she accuses me of mental illness and tells my mom they need to put me in a psych ward. She was mad because I went off on her, demanding help. I had no answers of why I was fainting constantly, I was so scared. She is a very MEAN woman, and when it comes down to it-she lacks knowledge of what to do in situations that she should know. She is put out by her job, another dr ended up taking over the remainder of my pregnancy.
