Dr. Tesfaye is the best oncologist I ever had. His compassion, knowledge, and concern for my well-being is amazing. I can't think of any other doctor I want to share my health journey.

Dr. Tesfaye is one of the most attentive and knowledgeable about my condition and he keeps me very well informed.

My wife was taken to McLaren’s hospital and found to have cancer. After a surgery to repair fractures in her spine (caused by the cancer) they were going to send her home even though she had mets through out her body that were (are) causing her extreme pain . They started to cut back on her pain meds and were going to send her home to me so I can hear her scream in agony. A McLaren’s oncologist stated that she needed radiation therapy and chemo therapy as well. I explained that I'm disabled and I'm 73 with a bad back and I'm in need of a shoulder and knee replacement as well as back surgery and that I wouldn't be able to get her into a car for daily the trips for radiation therapy and couldn't afford the $150.00 a day bill, that it would cost me to have a med van take her. I asked if they could send her from the hospital for these treatments as she was going to be there approx. another week. They said they couldn't do that. Oh by the way my wife is now paralyzed from the waist down… and can't lean forward or sit up because of the mets in her chest and ribcage areas and can't help with the transfers. I asked to speak to a oncologist and Dr. Tesfaye came to our rescue and after hearing our story he stated that she needed treatment NOW and going home with me or to a nursing home would only delay her treatments which she needed immediately and arranged for the radiation therapy treatments to start the following Monday. This man is kind, caring and compassionate doctor and after reading her hospital report prior to joining us he looked me in the eye and heard every word I said. He spoke with my wife and listened intently. Dr. Tesfaye was a God send and I'm telling you that if you want someone who loves people and cares for their wellbeing to give him a call. I hope he reads this as I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for his seeing that sending her home at that time was the wrong thing to do. What an extraordinary Doctor he is. The Dr. walked in an hour late for my appointment without even acknowledging he’d kept me waiting. Then he told me he didn’t think the treatment would help. Sent me for tests and set up follow up. Was told to keep a certain day open for procedure. So I put off other doctor appointments. Then get a call the day before that he wants to hold off and see how it does on it’s own. To come back for another appointment in a month and we’ll see. I asked so what do I do during the month as I’m not feeling well. They said test showed some improvement. I asked if that meant I was in OK range and they said no but let’s wait and see. The doctor approached everything like he was talking about some object not a human patient.
