Dr. Anthony Michael Ciabarra

I brought my mother in for stroke after care to be evaluated and treated for dementia. He recommended a medication that will slow down the progression of memory loss post stroke, but was never given the prescription. No prescription was ever forwarded to my mother’s PCP. On the day of the initial evaluation, with my mother’s Dementia, i was answering for her what i was able to answer and the MA was being rude to me - telling me “I told you to stay quiet!” The evaluation continued, I met Ciabarra… i told him about his rude MA, he didn’t apologize for the for his staff members attitude. I asked him about differences between Alzheimer’s and Dementia and the differences in their ratings.. He didn’t have an answer for me. And the only testing that was done, was to draw a clock, asked her a few memory questions and did a brain scan (EEG) to monitor for seizures. Several weeks later we returned for a follow up, his staff was all sick and coughing without masks, and was told my mother did not… suffer from seizures. That was all that was done. I will NEVER bring my mother back to this neurology clinic. Im looking for another neurologist.

It has taken me so far 7 months to get them to get an MRI scheduled. They still haven't gotten the correct part of the body scheduled for the MRI. I have been calling them weekly for the last three months and a couple of times a month before that. I have written the doctor detailing the times I have been told to schedule an MRI, taken time off work, and being told that it was never cleared through insurance. The last series of errors has them doing an MRI on my right shoulder when the more serious problem is with my left shoulder and neck. As the delays go on and on, the weakness and loss of function in my left arm increases. As a doctor, he is probably fine. But when I told the lab that had not gotten the clearance from the insurance company the third time I had been told to schedule the test, the scheduler with the hospital outpatient center asked which office was getting it so wrong. When I told her Dr. Anthony Ciabarra, she said she wasnt at all surprised, that they did not… follow through and dropped the ball, and that patients were often denied the tests, or told that to go ahead with it, they would have to pay for it out of pocket. Bottom line, if you want to deal with an incompetent staff, just to get to this particular doctor, feel free. Im looking for another neurologist.
