Dr. Anton Yurievich Plakseychuk, MD

I would recommend Plakseychuk to anyone for knee replacement. He was kind and helpful while I was making a decision about surgery. The surgery was a terrific success -- my knee is as good as new. This was a particularly difficult procedure because I have had many surgeries before due to a skiing accident. The doctor had to work around a lot of old hardware in my knee from the past, which he successfully navigated. Afterwards I recovered quickly with hardly any pain. I couldn't have been more satisfied.

First off he is rude and uncaring. He fixed my broken hip in 2021, then when I started having issues the hardware rubbing my it band, he didn't want to remove it. Unfortunately for me he did remove it in March this year. I ended up with a post up infection and a hemotoma so bad that my local hospital had to put a drain in to remove the blood 5 days ago. I also spent 5 days in the hospital on IV antibiotics for the infection. I am at home now still have the drain in and will have it another 7 more days. I would recommend if you need a otho find anyone else.

I was referred to this surgeon by one of our friend who had both knee replacement surgeries under his care with excellent recovery. I had my left total knee arthroplasty done at Magee Women's Hospital, Bone & Joint Center, by Dr Anton Plaksychuk 3 months back & I am writing this review to express my great appreciation and my utmost gratitude towards an excellent surgeon in Pittsburgh area. Dr. Plaksychuk & his entire Team deserves a million "ThankYou" for the excellent care I received, right from my pre-operative evaluation, through the surgery itself, the post operative care and the regular follow up over the last three months. I have recovered well with pain free movement with the knee joint and increased mobility overall. I will have no hesitation to go back to Dr Plaksychuck if I need my other knee replaced and I will recommend him to any one who needs attention to his/her knee joint. He is an excellent, caring physician, if that's what you are looking for.

He made me feel like I was crazy for coming in. He was incredibly rude. Will not see him again.

I was thrown for a loop that i needed a hip replacement, I had no warning, it just went out over night, I was scared to death, I read online nothing but horror stories about hip replacements, this doctor was so confident and reassuring and made me feel so comfortable, I would of left him reconstruct my whole body, I have extremely high anxiety when it comes to my health and have never had health issues from body parts, I cannot express how high in regard that I hold this doctor, he is phenomenal, his confidence is the most reassuring thing I have ever seen. I thank you so much Dr Plakseychuck and his team, may God Bless You for being the great doctor you are.

I have been to many surgeons in the city of Pittsburgh he is by far the best. He has saved my leg from amputation. He is my life saver. To me he is the best in Pittsburgh. His staff is also the best from office to hospital.

I am writing this review almost exactly a year out from a hip resurfacing. For those of you thinking about this surgery (as opposed to a total hip replacement) it is more difficult, more invasive and demands a surgeon with tons of experience in this specific procedure. Ideally he/she will have performed the surgery hundreds of times. In our local Pittsburgh community Dr. Plakseychuk is one of two or three who perform the procedure. I could not be more happy with the outcome, as a late 50's male athlete I wanted to return from an essentially destroyed hip and enforced sedentary lifestyle to hard exercise on a daily basis with no pain. Dr. Plakseychuk's skill and experience meant I was up and about in a day or so, no cane within 10 days, and on the machines again in month (sadly I dont want to risk going back to squash). Now a year out, I feel completely recovered. Dr. Plakseychuk is a spectacular and caring surgeon in a great treatment center (McGee Womens Bone and Joint Center) and I… fully intend to return to his office when the other hip gives up the ghost in a couple of years. Hip surgery is generally a positive game changer, however my outcome and the choice of a resurfacing (suggested by Dr. Plakseychuk) has been stellar. I am a very happy, fully recovered, patient.

Frankly, I am nothing less than grateful that this man did my surgery. Initially I was apprehensive about undergoing a hip resurfacing knowing full well that to undergo surgery is to literally put your life in someone's hands. Not only just your life on the table, but the quality of your life for a very long time thereafter. I had done medical malpractice cases during my legal career, and had seen the consequences of procedures gone bad. After doing all of my online research, I decided to trust Anton. He was up front with me on my initial consults. He didn't sugar-coat my situation. He answered all of my questions directly via email and gave me recommendations that were direct and professional. When I came out of surgery, I knew that I had undergone something major. It is now three months since my discharge from the hospital, and I can honestly say that not only am I glad I had the procedure, but I would go back to no-one other than this doctor should develop a similar problem in my… other hip. In fact, if he relocated out of my city I would travel great distances for his service. I never post comments on websites, but Dr. Plakseychuk deserves this comment from me. I would unequivocally recommend him to anyone.
