When I think of Anton, I think of Hannibal lecter. However, Hannibal experienced human emotions and seemed to be able to relate to his victims. Anton brings to the table all the arrogance and condescension without ever seeming to register even your presence except as a captive audience. Before you consider having him perform any sort Of official or legal paperwork for you, ask him to write a single sentence down for you and see how many childish spelling errors he makes. It took me decades to be willing to see another mental health provider after being quite literally traumatized as a child by this man. Everyone I’ve encountered has given me the same review, and the only reason he still has a practice is because he was for many years literally the only person in the region, perhaps that’s how he ended up here. Sending your child to see the man is irresponsible and cruel.

Anton Smets' professionalism is very poor. He specializes in being punctual, but not in accuracy of documentation. The court documents he prepared were full of spelling errors, and errors in documentation of facts, including dates, names, and event details. His professionalism is worth half the price he charges. As a psychologist he also struggled in reading root problems. He dismissed key facts, such as specific events that caused trauma, not even including them in his report if they did not fit his final determination. He advised homeschooling for perfectly healthy and socially abled children, and he did not speak favorably of religion. In his report he documented lying and embellishments made by different parties, but dismissed the lying in his final determination. If you are unfortunate enough to be assigned to him by the courts, be sure to have everything you want to say in writing so his errors are reduced. And be advised that outward fronts affect his determination more than… honesty.

Should not be allowed to practice. Do not trust him with your children or loved ones.
