Dr. Antwan Ibrahim Haskoor, MD

Has misdiagnosed things several times but the most Negligent was that he failed to check thyroid and discover a lump on my daughter, who was later diagnosed by another dr and turned out had thyroid cancer which dr. Haskoor completely missed! After many years of entrusting him with my kids, I have since left him.

Dr. Haskoor has been treating my children for many years. Overall I find him to be a good doctor, getting the right diagnosis the majority of the time. However, I cannot say that he has been spot on with all diagnoses since there have been a few times that he has been wrong. That is why it is important that you follow your own instincts and follow up when necessary. He is pleasant to deal with and always will alert you to any issues that he feels are of concern.

I used Dr. Haskoor for both of my daughters. I delivered both of them at LIJ hospital and he came to see them both. I took my older daughter to him at 1 month old when i found a lump in her groin, he referred me to a wonderful surgeon, she had an inguinal hernia which he was spot on. He was also spot on when she was diagnosed with exotropia in both eyes and referred me to an excellent eye doctor. I always feel very comfortable with Dr. Haskoor

Although very nice and sounds like he knows what he is doing, Dr. Haskoor has no clue. Aside from being in his office with swollen eyes or throat infections and having him have to call other doctors from other practices to ask them what was wrong with me, he has, on more than one occassion misdiagnosed me. First: I had a lump in my neck for a number of months and when I brough it up to him he told me it was nothing to worry about just a swollen gland. Now four years later, my new physician sent me to two specialists to have it checked out and I come to find out it is a lymph node that needs to be removed immediately. 3 out of the 3 doctors I have seen after him could not believe that he would say this was nothing to worry about. Second: When I wasn't in school, I was sleeping all of the time, felt sick, I had no energy to do anything all I wanted to do was stay in bed, there were even times I would have to leave school or sports practice early because I would just fall asleep on my… desk or have to sit aside from exhaustion. My mother and I both had suggested many times to have a blood test done to check for mono but he kept saying it was just strep and kept treating me for strep. While going to school I was on sports teams and participated in gym class.. Three months and over 5 visits later he had to take a blood test (only because it was time for my yearly check up) and the results showed that I was in the end stages of mono (something that you should not be playing sports with since your spleen is enlarged and rupturing it results in death) I just thank God that I didn't get injured within those three months. I would not recommend Dr. Haskoor to anyone.
